TAB S6 Lite stuck in infinite boot loop (Android 13)

Hello,

I recently upgraded to Android13 and after few hours I turn tablet off and now is stuck in infinite boot loop.

I can't access recovery mode with or without cables.

My theory is because first logo that appears is Android logo and then Samsung logo.
On S22 phone and all other phones I have (Note8, Note10) first logo is Samsung then Android logo.
Is there any workaround for this ? It just loops until battery dies

I tried with few cables, with charger, even with AKG earphones that comes with phones, it wont boot into recovery mode and when I press and hold buttons on first logo (Android) it just stays on it until I release all buttons

@NyperCro: If you have access to a home computer, try connecting your Tab S6 Lite via USB cable, then press and hold the Volume Up and Side buttons together until you see the Samsung logo, then release, to see if you can access recovery mode in this manner. Alternatively, try pressing and holding the Volume Down and Side buttons together until the device powers on, as this will perform a Soft Reset, and resolve any temporary software issues.

Like I said, i tried all cable connections to USB with pc, laptop... no go

I have 3 buttons, volume up/down and power/lock

When holding Volume up and power/lock it just stays on first logo (android) for some time and then just continues until second logo (Samsung) and then reboots. Soft reset does nothing, just returns to loop

I'm also having this issue after a recent android update. When I plugged it into my PC, it at least turned off. Otherwise, I have to wait for the battery to die.

No, I tried everything that I know and what I found. All buttons combinations, cables, connecting to earphones (that actualy worked before I upgraded to Android 13), chargers, pcs, other Samsung devices, nothing works.

Only thing left is using Adb but it cant be done since USB debugging is turned off on device. Next step is sending it to repair shop. If anyone have more ideas I am all ears..

So I noticed that I tried using a computer charger type c that it works but if I use a regular charger it didn't take me to boot mode ...but I don't know what to do after that. Cuz it got sick on fastboot????

Same issue after update in late Apr 2024. My S6 lite keeps looping "Samsung Powered by Andriod" on and off

Did you try using a laptop charger rather than a regular charger..? I used a computer laptop charger one day to try and correct the Reboot and do a reset and it worked, but when I tried to use a Regular types C charger it did not work.

Yeah I just plugged in my HP laptop type C charger into the tablet and it booted up as normal??? Works fine from what i can see.

I dont have that type of laptop, my HP is almost 14y old

From what exact HP model did you use the charger, maybe I could find the charger and try it

UPDATE :

I managed to get into recovery mode using older Galaxy Note 8 cable, by connecting to USB 2.0 port.

But recovery mode didnt help like I wanted. Only Factory Reset did help to get back into Tablet. Doing restoration now and will monitor will that solve issues, but so far I think upgrading to Android 13 was a mistake

Mine is the regular s6 not the lite but I had the same issue. The only thing that worked for me was something I kind of stumbled upon. I put it in airplane mode and it stopped booting over and over. Like I said it probably won't help anyone else but who knows. The update caused an infinite boot after all.

i got the S6 lite P615 just months ago and also in the same predicament....

Update: I tried using one of the method as mentioned by NyperCro (earlier thread) by using a cable (which I used an ordinary cable) to plug in to USB 2.0 port in my laptop and managed to reboot and update.

So far after using a few hours seems fine, hopefully it does not go haywire again.

It got resolved for me like this -

tab was not coming out of loop and neither was able to go to safe mode or recovery mode
finally what I did was kept it to charge full , attached to laptop and tried volume up and power . And also volume down and power and let it connected to laptop for 10 minutes after it was 100% charged . It auto started .
took me 2 days of frustration due to lack of proper support guidelines from Samsung
finally I figured out that I have turned on auto optiomizatoon recently and also plus RAM., which I turned off and after that tan is working normal

It is very frustrating. The tablet seemed to have issue and selected the updated few weeks back and now it is even worst. Just like the others mentioned here. Keep frozen during the boot up.

The method to stop looping the boot up screen did work. I plugged in the PC charger type c to the tab and press and hold power+vol down. As soon as the boot up screen off, I let go the buttons. Disconnected the charger and let it cool down for 10 seconds roughly, connected the charger back. As soon as it started charging normally with percentage and green indicator running, pressed the on button and it can power up normally. I have done the factory data reset, turned the optimization on, 4GB ram, but the tab still suddenly rebooted itself. Any recommendations?

It is a HW issue on exynos 9611 processor. All Samsung devices using the same SoC (Tab S6 Lite 2020 SM-P610, and P615, Galaxy A50s, A51 4G, F41, M21, M21s, M30s, M31, M31s) can face this issue after using 1~2 years.

Trying to not let CPU running at higher clock may increase the chance to boot successfully. Someone suggests force lower the CPU clock can temporary fix it, but it need to ROOT your device. https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-M/Exynos-9611-Restart-issue-Fix-Requires-ROOT-ignore-if-not/td-p/11465241

I use some alternative way to avoid the CPU running at highest frequency.

1. don't boot while charging (When running on charging mode it may keep CPU running at higher clock)

2. enable power saving mode in battery settings.

3. Enable Developer options in settings and a. Enable "Don't keep activities" and set "Background process limit" to No background processes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGjTShJM75E

4. When need to charge battery, first plug in the USB cable and than shutdown the tablet to let it charging without boot up. It is cumbersome, but may better than through it to trash can.

After changing these, I was able to watch Youtube and other steaming videos without random reboot. Not sure which step works. Hope it can live longer.

Yesterday my tablet prompted me to update to android 15. Now it is in this loop. It's now been 24 hours. I let it power down completely but when I switch it on, it starts again. Did you manage to resolve your issue and how... tx...

What is your version of Tab S6 Lite (2022 or 2024?)

Mine is 2020 version. I don't know newer version of Tab S6 Lite can have this issue too.

You can try to boot into recovery mode first.

To do this, using a USB cable plug into a PC or laptop first (you have to do this to boot into recovery mode). then while rebooting, press power button and volume up at the same time until the Samsung logo appears. after few trials you may get into recovery mode.

in recovery mode you can select shutdown the tablet to let it cold down for a while, then try to reboot it again to see if it can boot up successfully or not.
