Does S9 tab ultra support hdmi via usb c port

I purchased an adapter and getting video but no sound trying to stream Netflix and YouTube onto my TV, when trying to stream Skygo I get neither but getting a message saying that the device is blocking it?

I did try using a couple of other HDMI cables which works with other devices but no joy, I'm now thinking it's a faulty adapter or the device doesn't support hdmi output, can anyone clarify, thanks in advance 👍

Should have got Google Chromecast. So much easier .

Do you have Samsung TV?

Then could use smartview.

Thanks Pugs1957, do you know if it's to do with the device not being supported? I've managed to stream Skygo on two different laptops successfully with both sound and video, just trying to find out if it's the adapter or the device being unsupported, appreciate it 👍

Unfortunately not Goangeek it's a Panasonic but I just wanted the extra flexibility of being able to stream it from my device to any TV, ie when on holiday etc not too concerned as the ultra does have a nice display but so does a 55" oled TV 😉 👍

There is no official way to cast/screen mirror Sky go from mobile device to TV (and generally no guaranteed solution anyway). Some information here https://www.bluecinetech.co.uk/sky-go-to-chromecast/

I tried every which way to do this but Sky seem to know when a monitor attached. Even using a TV connected to a PC wouldn't work.

Consider buying Google Chromecast you can watch YouTube and stuff on TV from your mobile no cables need.

Also check if your TV as YouTube app etc built in.

Thx I'll look into Chromecast, I've got app on TV what I was looking for was to be able to stream to TV when away from home on holiday staying in hotel etc cheers for getting back to me 👍

Works great for what you mention, just need to then ensure you can get WiFi access or mobile data.

Thanks for that, interestingly it looks identical to the one I purchased except for the fact it's USB 3.1 and the S9 is 3.2 (it'll probably be backward compatible) and the manufacturer name, I've returned it as I believe it is defective as the s9 tab ultra USB C port is HDMI alt mode compatible and should be getting sound and video from at least some of the source I've been trying, much appreciated, I'll wait and see whether I get a new adapter replacement sent out 👍

I did find originally that I had no sound but in Dex you can choose sound output & have to select the screen or it reverts to tablet speakers.

Thanks for that, unknownlol above had asked about dex, I'm new to this and had took it off the supplied slim book cover to try to connect so didn't use Dex at the time, the sound wasn't passing through to the TV so may be something to with dex? Looks like it's back to the drawing board😲👍

Hi Clive, I got a replacement today and it worked ok as you said by selecting the output in Dex but I found the volume very low, have you had this issue? thanks 👍
(the tab speakers are actually much louder when you leave the output on the tab)
