Samsung S8 Ultra tablet won't recognise USB drive to play films

Dear Samsung,

I have the S8 Ultra tablet bought Nov 2022.

I am plugging in a USB drive via a USB C adaptor cable. The tablet is not recognising the USB drive at all to play films.

When I drop down the notification bar, it says Charging conneced devive via USB.
I am not charging, I want to play films.

Hi @MickNottm ,

in order to connect a USB memory to your Tab S8 Ultra you will need a USB OTG Cable. Are you currently using this?

Yes Tess.
I've done it now thanks for replying. Tablet needed a soft reset to recognise the USB drive.
Power button and volume down button for 15 seconds, release when see Samsung writing.
