Tab A7 switching on/off

just got a Tab A7 and when I click the power button to put the tab in snooze the screen goes off as expected. But within a minute it automatically comes back on for a a bit before going dark again, it then cycles through this process.
How do I keep it in snooze mode?

Hey @Rob555, this could be due to your device's timeout settings. Please go to: Settings > Display > Screen timeout > Change this to 30 minutes. Next, do a Soft Reset of the tablet by holding the Volume Down as well as the Power buttons for 10 seconds. Does it help?

Done those actions and also turned off any gestures. Do I need to take this Tablet back, is this a common issue?
