Hi everyone, I've ordered a galaxy tab s8+ , I've been looking at getting the Samsung book case for it but that leaves the s pen exposed , now I probably won't use the s pen so can the s pen be left off the tab ?

Yes ofcourse, however you may want to disable the warning when the s pen is not connected to the tablet.

Yes, it does hold a charge. You simply need to reattach it to the strip at the back of the tablet to recharge it.

I have the Samsung book cover for my tab s7+. Which also fits the s8+. There is a place to store the s pen inside the book cover. It's under the tablet where the pen can sit by magnet. Once the book cover is closed there is no chance it will fall out. You can still use the s pen not charged. Only needs charging for the Bluetooth features to work.

Thanks Fiona , think I need to YouTube the s pen , didn't know you can use the pen not charged , I put a post on asking about cases , does the tablet actually feel secure even though it's just held in with a magnet ?

Have a look at the Case on amazon,mine clips into a holder and has an elastic strap that holds the s pen in place,it also has an elastic strap to hold the front cover in place when you close the case

It is pretty sturdy considering it is just held on with magnets. I'll be honest though I have had it come off a few times. Sitting up in bed, must of caught it and pulled the case away. Just make sure you close it before moving around. I did purchase a really solid case from amazon. Unfortunately the magnets on that case interfered with the s pen when writing on the tab. You don't get that problem with the Samsung book cover. So make sure you read reviews before purchasing one. The one Barrie1 has recommended looks nice.

I've already got this Infiland case on it but I honestly don't think I'll be using the s-pen so that'll go back in the box the tab came in the extra flap that wraps around is good for the pen but tbh when its open it's massive, prefer just a slim case , if the Samsung book cover had a frame to click it in to I'd have got that because that's the style I like
