Samsung A8 tab 10.5 (2021) USB

I have a A8 tab 10.5 (2021) and want to be able to put a memory stick into it (ie a usb).

Does anyone know what adaptor would work to enable this?

There are 1000s of different adaptors/hubs out there and I don't know how to find one that works with this tablet. I'm not very technologically minded so I'm stuck!

I hope someone can help me with this.

We do stock a Multiport Adapter on our website that will allow you to connect a USB stick to your Tab A8, you can view this here: https://www.samsung.com/uk/computer-accessories/multiport-adapter-ee-p5400usegww/

Alternatively, purchasing a standard OTG (On The Go) adapter from a reputable third-party retailer will work just fine, just be sure to check the reviews.

Any usb-A to usb-c will work. If you are in the UK look on the Scan website as they have the right sort.

Thanks for the reply.

I did buy a OTG but it wouldn't plug into my tablet - wrong shape to plug in.

How do I know what shape/type of port to go for? I havn't seen the A8 tab listed as a compatible device. The Samsung one looks expensive, I hope there is a cheaper option!

Any further advice would be appreciated.

Just one small extra question - should I go for usb 2 or usb 3? Or are they compatible?

Hi @LLNN The Tab A8 supports USB 2.0. https://www.samsung.com/uk/tablets/galaxy-tab-a/galaxy-tab-a8 A USB 3.0 connection would work as backward compatible but would be at the lower speed.

can you tell me that why my tab a8 does not recognize any external storage besides sd. I am trying to connect a thumb drive and the tablet will not recognize anything through the usb c.
