I have a Samsung laptop (Galaxy Book), and am trying to install the new firmware update via Samsung Update. I keep getting an error message 'Fail: Flash error. Flash tool reported error (103). Please check log file.' I have no idea what this means, but I've tried the update several times over several days, and got the same error message. Can anyone help / advise? (I have updated to Windows 11, if that makes a difference.) Thank you.

Go into Windows defender and look at device security options, if core isolation is on you may want to try turning that off temporarily.

Go to C:\Users\-yourlogin-\Downloads\SamsungUpdate to locate the BIOS update exe.If it's not there, open windows explorer and search for the update file (e.g. P17CFD).

Once you find it, right click it and select 'Properties', in the compatibility tab go to the drop down menu and select 'Windows 8' and make sure the box above it is ticked.

Click apply, then OK. Now right click the file and run as administrator.

It should now work fine.
