Gallery Stories feature added to Samsung Galaxy Gallery app

I have literally just discovered that Samsung have added a feature - without my knowledge or proactive informed consent - to the 'Gallery' on my Galaxy smartphone called 'Gallery Stories.'

'Gallery Stories' reportedly enables 'private photos' taken by me on my Galaxy smartphone to be 'curated' into stories without my input and played, also without any knowledge or control by me.

Why do the makers of consumer electronic devices capable of recording audio-visual data, their research and development staff, and/or marketing people believe creating a 'Gallery Stories' feature is even vaguely sensible or a 'must have' for an end consumer?

I would counsel these people: before they come up with next 'great' idea that they believe every consumer wants (apart from sentient human beings who understand the dictionary meaning of, and value, 'privacy'), to think extraordinarily carefully before pressing ahead and implementing that next 'great' idea.

It may cost you hitherto loyal customers!

I now have to waste time switching this 'Gallery Stories' feature off (assuming of course that it can, in fact, be switched off) and deleting all 'Gallery Stories' that have been created without my knowledge or proactive informed consent.

@AJKohl: I'm sorry to hear that you feel this way, but please be assured that you can prevent Stories from being created automatically by heading to the Gallery app > Tap the Menu in the bottom right > Settings > Auto create stories > Toggle the switch to the right so it greys out.

To delete existing stories, tap on the 'Stories' tab at the bottom of the screen > Press and hold on a story thumbnail > Tap on any others you'd like to include > Delete.

Thank you. I'm sure under 18s find this feature 'amusing.' I'm afraid I don't. I only become aware of it because it suddenly appeared in notifications without my knowledge or intervention. If I feel my privacy is being invaded, I will have no hesitation in choosing a competitor product that respects my privacy.

@AJKohl: Please be assured that any Stories created on your device are stored locally, and are only shared if done so manually by you. From the stories tab you can also tap the 3 dots > Hide content, and add dates, people and pets so they won't appear in automatically created stories.

It's not new. It was there in my S8, when I started using Samsung.
