There are still a few tech YouTubers that tell it like it is. The trouble is these are usually very small channels, which get very hard to find. The bigger channels... they have not performed a good review in years!

Take MKBHD as an example. He really, really knows about photography and videography. He has been working with RED cameras for years and has a big collections of lens and the knowledge to use them. But, in the last 4 or 5 years, his reviews are only on the most basic settings of the cameraphone he is using, grading it always as iPhone > Galaxy S Ultra > Pixel > everything else. He did organize for several years a blind comparison on Twitter and Instagram (places where image quality gets destroyed... 🤮), and people chose usually the brighter images. Still, he never incorporated these findings into his reviews, nor did he improve the test.

These big YouTubers live for the exclusivity of first accessing the devices. It is when the people are mostly looking for the phones, and whoever gets it at launch (or before, to have a video ready to post at launch) gets all the money from advertisements on YouTube. Whoever comes next will get a lot less audience (Google trends show a 60% decline in 5 days after the S26 family launch). So, the bigger channels will always cozy up with the manufacturers, and try their best not to anger the marketing people, so that they can still get access on day one for their products. 😔

By default, these are turned off for daily users, which is a shame. YouTubers like Supersaf, Mrwhosetheboss, and MKBHD make camera comparison videos; however, I don't believe they show or utilize these settings for the best quality images or results when they compare to other devices like Apple or Pixel devices.

Are there any videos using these settings and then comparisons for default, and then actually putting effort into the quality of their captures? Using pro mode—these settings within Camera Assistant?

Please lmk your thoughts below

There are hundreds of them. Some are fair, some are more biased and there are different levels of knowledge too and not to forget that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. When I am checking reviews for something I want to get I watch alot of reviews and I watch about the pros and cons too. While watching many reviews you will come across all of them and it will help you form an opinion. The last test is to go in a shop and try the device for yourself if you can. Sometimes good reviews help me to skip that test, and having previous devices makes me form an opinion sort of based on experience but the amount of interest I put into getting more information is often directly proportional with how much money I am going to invest for the product that I am going to get.

Trouble is a some have an agenda
Some have a particular style
There are also different levels of knowledge and skill of photography
Personally I don't watch any
I go and see the devices
That said with the premium devices like the S series. You kind of know what to expect
But the videos are someone's opinion on the cameras and they can often use the photography terminology. But not understand what it means properly
Just see the camera videos as entertainment information

Most don't know what they are doing, some are paid for positive reviews, some have hidden agenda's, etc. Very few are actually honest reviews unfortunately.

Not everyone is that technically minded. Most people buy a phone and just point and shoot. Samsungs apps like Expert raw and camera assistant aren't widely advertised so most users don't even know they exist.
