2 grey ticks mean blocked

Hi there.

Can someone help me in understanding what 2 grey ticks mean on Samsung messages?. Does that mean the message goes to their inbox or blocked list?.

It has 2 grey ticks and when I call the person the call gets diverted to voicemail after connects. Do they need rcs messages on as I have delivery reports on.

I'm just so confused right now

Please help if you can.

I'll happily stand corrected but as far as I'm aware, two greyed ticks mean the message has been delivered but not seen.

My understanding is:

1 grey tick - sent but not delivered yet
2 grey ticks - sent, delivered but not seen by recipient
2 blue ticks - sent, delivered and seen by the recipient

Ok thank you. What if that person doesn't have rcs on, will it go blue to say it's been read or would it mean it'll say 2 grey ticks?

Now this I'm not sure and it is a reason I refuse to use RCS as I find the service very unreliable.

Others are therefore better placed to answer. I "think" both the sender and receiver need RCS active.

In the past I had no end of messages not arrive as the users (or me) didn't have RCS on.

Use SMS is my view.

Oh ok. Is the grey ticks related to rcs or delivery reports, do you know?. Does the 2 grey ticks mean a block?. I call the number and it connects and goes to voicemail

Hi there and welcome to the community.

It means it was delivered to recipient but it haven't been read.

Single tick means : Your message has been successfully sent from your device to the network server.

If it works the same as WhatsApp then 1 grey tick means sent, 2 grey ticks mean delivered and 2 blue ticks means read.

I doubt it would show as delivered if your number was blocked.

If you block number/numbers on phone app you can still make calls on WhatsApp or telegram for that contact.

Clock= Sending, 1 Check= Sent, 2 Checks Delivered/Not read, and 2 Checks with color in the box= Read. Calling and diverting to voicemail after one ring or two rings could mean either blocked for calling and texting is allowed, or the person has DND (Do Not Disturb) enabled and your number is not on the calling bypass or favorites list (you can mark specific contacts and/or you can mark favorites) to be allowed to reach you when DND is enabled. Like the commenter before me, S25 Ultra is my device, and it worked the same on my S23 Ultra that bricked a little over a year ago. The only thing that has changed is the look of the status symbols. Also if you click on a specific message and you go to the "View Details" option that will show you exactly, in words, the status of a message. I hope this helps!
