Pixel phones are good for day to day and camera use and the AI is really good. The issue is that for the price you lack the power. Googles 10 series are not as powerful as last years S24 Ultra in terms of use and takes sometime to really think about things when loading anything.

I had a Pixel 8 for a short while. I missed a lot of the Samsung apps especially the gallery, my Files, email and Expert raw to name a few. Also missed all the Good Lock apps with all the customisations. The pixel interface and launcher are quite bare bones with very little customisation options. They take good photos but looks a bit dull if you're used to Samsungs photos.

Hi @MNas04 Might want to have a look at this thread https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-a-series/samsung-or-google-pixel-phones/td-p/11454277

Personally I have not purchased pixel phones, it is the stock Android and my view would not be give you the same satisfaction but obviously some are fans and others like to make comparisons. More limited options though some customisation is available. https://store.google.com/intl/en/ideas/articles/pixel-recommended-settings/#:~:text=That's%20why%20Pixel%20phones%20are,to%20make%20Pixel%20uniquely%20yours.

one advantage is that updates are quicker.

The Beta programs are a lot easier to enroll and leave. If you leave the beta the you just get the old stable as a download in the normal software update.

I had a pixel before they are not bad at all, but it's just not for me, I do prefer One ui, and like mentioned i missed out on quite few samsung features and apps, as for the cameras here's the comparison from @Glenntech S25 ultra vs pixel 10 pro :

https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/samsung-lounge/s25-ultra-and-google-pixel-10-pro-cameras/td-p/13432142?src=ShareByUserCM

They lag behind quite a lot in terms of performance and hardware but try to make up for it with fancy features. Since google makes them, they can test out features first with them. Later the rest of androids get the features.

So they have very unique features but are behind in hardware

On the pixel phones you can virtually stay on beta software all the time. After the stable firmware as been released you can stay on the beta and Google bring out quarterly betas before the next android upgrade.

Yes, but again it depends on person really, pixels gets the all the updates first, all the new features, but lacks in hardware.

For me personally I like samsungs one ui and hardware they are well balanced and optimised, I've definitely seen people on other forums switching to pixels and they swear they stick with them but majority said that if you put aside getting betas, updates etc first Samsung is their choice. I dont say pixels are bad phones, it's just my personal opinion (and from what I've gathered from other forums)

Don't know if it's changed in the later models but unless you had the pro model of the pixel 8 you could only take pictures at 12mp. The camera was 50mp but it was set at 12mp as default and you couldn't change it.

First thing one has to say is that all these phones are so good now, it comes down to personal preference.
I know theres talk about the Pixel not being as powerful etc
But it doesn't have to be. Theres no extra UI on the phones. So they dont need massive RAM etc.
In the time I've had my Pixel 10 Pro till now. I've not experienced any issues with performance. It quite happily zips through screens and apps.
The slowest part is the AI post processing after taking a photo. But its something you expect with the amout of processing it does to photos.

My only real thing is its a bit sparse on features. They are gradually getting more over time.
Its a really usable phone, and someone that likes just a simple easy to use phone that's not an iPhone.
Can take great pictures etc
They would be quite happy with it.
For me i much prefer my S25 Ultra. Just the features and more controls over camera settings. Its much more my thing.
The Pixel I use really to try out the new Android beta software way before any OEM gets a chance to use it.

Photos with the Pixel. Well when they work perfectly, the results are at times truly amazing.
But, I find the AI to be a bit annoying as it gets things wrong.
It saves photos before post processing, but frankly the quality is not great.
Just no middle ground for me.
That said most others will probably be quite happy with it.

Though to me its a glimpse into where mobile photography is going with AI as part of it.
I prefer the S25 Ultra that has only minimal AI sharpening.
AI is going to be a big part of what's coming and its all early stages at the moment. But give it a bit of time. It will improve a lot more.

The Pixel does have some unique features. Some good and some annoying

But it couldn't be my only daily driver phone. I like my Samsung phones with all the options and features too much
