It's a way of rooting your phone which is not recommended as it normally validates any warranty you may still have on your device.

Hi! I may be wrong here, so correct me if I am.
So basically, a custom Android OS is a version of the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) developed by Google that has been modified from the original by third-party developers. It means it's an operating system that is still Androids coding, but it's been modified. Depending on how much has been changed, it could be exactly the same as Android or may feel completely different to Android.
In my opinion- stick to the original that's only been edited by Android.

It's where you can install a different version of the phone's operating system to Samsung OneUI.
If you are interested, you should do a lot of research as there are risks including bricking your phone or installing a 3rd party piece of software which is potentially malicious or is not maintained to the same level of security as OneUI.
You may have problems with some banking apps and potentially some may say it is against their terms and conditions.
Personal view of mine is that I would only take official Samsung software through the official download channel or something from the Google Play / Samsung Store.

If you are keen to learn more, perhaps try it out on a cheap or old phone as a learning exercise, and maybe in a sand box type of set up where you don't use it for secure transactions. You could even set up separate Google/ login accounts for it.

Almost every banking app and game will just fail as a custom os will fail the google play integrity check. Graphine os might work but I don't believe that works on samsung
