Thinking of upgrading

I currently have the samsung galaxy a16 5g thinking about upgrading but don't know which phone to go with it's either the s23 ultra or s24 ultra just wondering which is best to go for

I've not personally owned either of the those, but I have had the s24+

So personal input will be given by other members 😊

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
* Released: February 2023
* Pros: Excellent camera system, powerful performance, S Pen included, beautiful display.

* Cons: Older model, might not receive the latest software updates for as long as the S24 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
* Released: January 2024
* Pros: Latest technology, potentially improved camera and performance over the S23 Ultra, longer software support.
* Cons: Newer model, so it will be more expensive than the S23 Ultra.

Here's what to consider:
* Budget: The S23 Ultra is likely to be available at a lower price now that the S24 Ultra is out.
* Latest features: The S24 Ultra will have the newest technology and features.
* Camera: Both phones have incredible camera systems, but the S24 Ultra might have some improvements.
* Performance: Both phones are powerful, but the S24 Ultra will have a newer processor.
* Software updates: The S24 Ultra will likely receive software updates for a longer period.

Recommendation:
* If you want the absolute best and latest, and budget is not a concern, go for the S24 Ultra.

Thank you and I am slightly leaning towards the s24 ultra due to it being supported for up to 7 years worth of updates rather than the s23 ultra which only has four years

I own both phones and have been impressed with both.

I'd suggest to check out YouTube reviews and have hands on at a Samsung Experience Store or Highstreet Store that has working models on display.

I've had hands on with both just wondering if it's worth getting the s23 as it's only got 4 years of updates so I'm thinking the s24 will be better as it's supported for longer

Personally I take the view that the S23 Ultra is one of the best devices Samsung ever produced.

4 years of updates plus 5 of security patches mean you'll get Android 14 out of the box, 15 which hasn't rolled out yet, 16 and 17 with an extra year of security.

So you'll get a good 3 years out of it before updates start to cease. It will also be cheaper to buy if that is a consideration.

S24 Ultra early models had issues but later ones may have been better. I was underwhelmed with the cameras on mine (early pre-order model) but everything else was fabulous.

That's helped me out a lot as it was the updates I was worried about think it will be the s23 ultra
