My last phone, an s22, updated on 10/19 and created locked folders within itself for Samsung and Google that i could not access. I lost a whole lot of good stuff with that update. Including the calender that had transferred over to new phones for the past 15 years.. Very frustrating and still too raw to get back into. My new s24 has been having updates almost daily for the past two weeks and I'm very nervous... does anyone else's phone update that frequently?

Has anyone experienced the locked folders?

I guess it depends if bugs, feature updates, and security are important to you.

You can turn off automatic updates if you prefer to keep the phone as it is.

Samsung make an update every month... usually a security update one month, and a feature and big fix the next month.

They are good enough to keep android up to date for 4 years or more with newer phones.

Personally I would want to keep my phone up to date and with any improvements available. If it bothers you then disable updates.

Happy Christmas
Smiley

The S series of phones get monthly updates to stay secure. The A series get them 4 times a year as their lower cost devices. Your apps can update whenever they feel like. Bugs are a pain, we all hate them. Updates fix bugs

Agreed on that. We don't need any. They try to please everyone because of the moaners. My phone still works great after all the updates.
