@Strat621: Are you referring to automatic software updates (Settings > Software updates > Auto download over Wi-Fi), or automatic app updates in the Google Play Store/Galaxy Store? For Predictive text, is it only showing up when you're composing a message in Gmail? To eliminate the possibility of this being another feature, please head to Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings > Predictive text (toggle the switch so it greys out) > Auto replace > English (UK) (toggle the switch so it greys out) > Back > Suggest text corrections > English (UK) (toggle the switch so it greys out).

I have gone into settings on my Samsung A14, and selected automatic updates and turned off predicted text. However, neither has been successful. The updates aren't updating automatically, and predictive text still appears on my gmail. Can anyone suggest where I may have gone wrong?

Thank you Andrew for this comprehensive reply. I was referring to Play Store updates. I greyed out "Auto update over wi-fi only", "update over any network" I didn't touch. I was referring to predictive text appearing only in gmail, and the settings you mention to alter are all done.

Solved the gmail prediction problem Andrew. Tucked away in settings is 'Smart Compose'. Turned that off, and no more predictive prompts! Thanks amigo.
