Had sent a text message to my wife and her reply came back as two question marks.When I arrived home I had asked her did she understand the text I sent her.Her reply was Yes..on looking at her phone and text she replied with a thumbs up emoji.She,s using a Samsumg A51 and me..a S8.

So my question is How can a Thumbs Up change to 2 question marks??..Same Network too...very odd.

This can happen if one phone isn't properly reading the sent emoji so converts it to question marks.

Try launching the messages app, tap on the 3clittle dots which shows many options and tap on settings, more settings m text messages, and make sure input mode shows as automatic.

My message app doesn't have the option to change. I've gone through settings/apps, messages, etc.
