Apps keep crashing - How to fix

It seems like many of us Samsung Users are experiencing our apps closing.

I had to go into my settings, Apps and select "show system apps" to find Android System WebView. I then did a Force Stop.

Now all my apps are working, thank you community!

Many of my apps including Google, yahoo email, Gmail etc not opening. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks

just uninstall the Android System WebView in Google Play Store

stop the automatic update

reboot your device

Samsung email, Gmail, Messages, all won't open and keep crashing....has anybody any ideas please x

Webview is already disabled and cant enable it, not sure what to do

its a known fault since last night ive just finally fixed it by .....
Meanwhile, anyone experiencing the problem, whether on a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or otherwise, is encouraged to uninstall Android System WebView updates. You can do this by searching for it in the Play Store, and selecting "uninstall," which should fix the problem. If that option is unavailable for some reason, you can perform the same action in your device settings.

Hi all!

I've merged a few of the threads covering this one.

Advice we've received:

"Samsung is aware of this phenomenon which may appear on Galaxy devices due to Google Webview issue and this problem was already resolved with the latest app updates of Android System Webview and Chrome, 89.0.4389.105 version."

To update Android System Webview

Settings >Apps > Search Webview > Tab Android System Webview > App details in store > Update.

To update Google Chrome

Settings > Apps > Chrome > App details in store > Update

Please note that If the Update menu is not available, please tap the Enable button to activate app update.
