WhatsApp Silent Tone notification giving default tone

Last week my Note 10 updated to Android 11. I have a problem now:

- whatsapp notifications are set to: notification tone: - silent

--> my phone after this uodate gives the default whatsapp tone although it's on Silent tone. (it should be silent)

--> when I change it to a different tone, let's say "alien", it does give that tone as requested.

--> so my phone behaves as if the tone that is called "silent", is really the default tone of whatsapp.

I know I can switch off notifications altogether, but I want to keep being to see that I have a new message, just don't want to hear notifications all the time.

WhatsApp doesn't support Android 11, yet so you will need to be patient for them to do it.

I can't get notifications for WhatsApp. sounds like it's a common problem after the latest update.
