currently going through two painful things so thats too much, i had a surface pro break on me all they want to offer is a refurbished likely scratched unit i paid for new so i want new but theres nothing i can do about it, i would feel much better if i got rid of these 2 painful nightmares but i can't, at least i want to get rid of the note because i seriously could not stand it it was decent but thats not what i look for when paying 1200 dollars for a phone.

so i got the note 10+ the screen has a strong warm red yellow tone despite pushing it to the coldest setting (yes bluelight iflter is off etc etc etc since everyone asks) any way samsung support themselves agreed that it is too warm so i left the phone at samsung service they did nothing instead i got this (ran through google translate)

"The displays get different base contrasts during manufacture. Some have more blue light, some have green and others have red. The display colors can thus differ between different displays despite the same model. The easiest way to adjust this if you are not satisfied is to go under settings> display> screen mode and change the RGB or select a preset option such as "intense" to get clearer colors. "

this is official confirmation that some screens have a green or red overtone and that this is up to chance, it is also a confirmation that samsung sees this as normal, when it comes to sony phones i've never had this issue before.

all in all it feels like samsung displays are just plain bad to me, i got the galaxy fold now and it has a slight yellow tint not at all as bad as the note this time it's acceptable but enough for it to be noticable expecially when playing mariokart where everything just feels yellow, i find it ridiculous how the most praised display of any phone looks so dull and onetinted to me i will likely never buy a samsung phone again after this experience, i bought the xz3 recently will do a direct comparison but based on my findings i feel this xz3 is going to be the best display of any phone i've ever seen as it also has super vivid mode a mode that is extremely important to me.

so you are saying that sony phones cater to people with eye disease? i can't lie and say that the display of the note 10+ is great it's average at best, i can't lie and say that the screen on the galaxy fold is best either but it is much better than the note 10+, at this point the best display i have seen is the xperia 1 and 5 series, but i still prefer the colors of my xz1 i am drawn to them more as they are more vibrant despite the panel being vastly inferior, i am now going to test the xz3 soon so i can get to the bottom of the fact that super vivid mode is crucial for me to love the display of a phone, galaxy phones are way too warm you can see this by the fact that on the coldest setting it's not overly blue while on sony phones you can't increase blue to the max because the screen suffers as a result of that red gets less powerful and white almost turns blue, you can turn a sony display that cold, but there is no way to do so on a galaxy phone, the fold is much better though but still not in the way that i would wow at it and just admire the colors and not find flaws, it's also impossible to get facts because the display of a galaxy phone is capable of being pushed further in brightness but this only happens when watching an hdr video at which point it goes even warmer, xperia phones do not get warmer when that brightness boost occurs, the colors of the xperia 5 was the best i've ever seen when playing an hdr video as thats when the screen is boosted, all galaxy phones including the fold just has a tint, but the fold is so little that i can't or don't know if it's a problem or that i am just overly sensitive to warm colors the outer screen is slightly colder than the inner so i prefer the outer screen more, the note 10+ on the other hand i am convinced is a problem.

i wish it was easy for me to like displays it's not even the samsung qled tv that i bought wasn't good enough i sent it back i did a direct comparison of it next to my sony af9 oled tv i may sound biased but when it comes to displays i always prefer sony i tried to get the lg c8 i changed from the af8 because of everyone saying how the c8 or was it c9 don't remember is much brighter once i got the c8 i felt the difference in picture immediatly to the point of sending it back and swapping it for the af9, the colors of the surface pro were so terrible that i had to force the nvidia controlpanel just to pull up saturation and even then it was so bad that laptop ended up collecting dust, so yes i am very sensitive to color clarity i grew up on overly cold colors i used to use trinitron monitors with the color temp set to 11 000 anything less was unacceptable to me as it was yellow i want something as cold as possible as long as white looks white as soon as white loses it's white and turns blue thats where it's too cold other than that it doesn't matter how cold, there are very few displays that i actually like i don't like accurate calibration never have before it's just too dull so theres no way for me to know that the overly yellow and warm colors i get from galaxy phones are "accurate" all i know is that i can't stand them, so yeah it will be very interesting to see oled with supervividmode, i however can say that the colors of the s9+ i saw when i left the note at service didn't have an overly warm display it was a phone on display but i can't say much there as i saw it for like a min, if i get a refund for the note then i will likely never try a samsung galaxy again as it seems to me that the screens are not for me displays are a passion for me and i am willing to pay the highest price if it's a display i like thats why i can't wait for microled, it should not be hard to satisfy my display needs and yet theres rarely displays i love, it feels weird to use a brand new phone from 2019 then feeling more comfortable going back to my old xperia xz1 from years back because that display displays color much better in the way that matters even though it's darker it's just crisper even more so than the xperia 5 i just overall prefer the display of the xz1, i really wish displays were better to me as they are important to me, it is not easy to always sending something back because the display isn't good enough, i sent the xperia 1 back because the colors were too dull i feel the 5 is better at that but still not as saturated as the xz1 with supervividmode.

i personally wish samsung reads this thread and understands that eliminating blue light is not for everyone, yes it's more healthy but i don't care about that kind of thing i want to push a screen to the very limit to enjoy it the way i want to and if it gets burnin after a year or two thats ok as a display change is like 200 dollars any way, i am every day risking my af9 because everything is maxed out i could use a lower brightness to keep it for longer, i have kept it for over a year now at this usage which is extreme without burnin (uniformity burnin though) but it would be less of a risk if i didn't push it but then why buy such an expensive tv if you're not even going to use it, i plan on buying a new one once i can get it for like 2000 1000 dollars.

no it's just you that can't accept that not everyone likes it, i will be vocal about my issues as theres a bigger chance it's heard, smartphones are important to me so is display quality, no it's not a lie the xz1 boosts colors with it's supervividmode makes them unnatural but i prefer that, it's n ot unnatural to me, you blame my eyes because i don't like something that you like, i won't stop mentioning what i think about products, even samsung support themselves said that they are starting to believe me once i showed them pictures you just can't accept that i don't love the display like everyone normally does, wheather it's a defect or on purpose is something i have no information on, you also completely ignored the fact that i have set it as cold as i possibly can it's still too warm.

the fact that other people experience it too means that i am not alone

https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S9/Yellowish-tint-on-S9-screen/td-p/296174

and no if you read what i said i clearly said the xz1 has an inferior display but the fact that the colors are more saturated makes me prefer that in terms of color, doesn't mean it's not an inferior panel with considerably lower brightness, it's just the colors that i prefer there and the fact that there is not even the slightest hint of any yellow or red tint not even the slighest it does however get terrible when i turn off super vivid mode

I don't care much what people think. Obviously you are the one trying to get support from others but can't get much.

As far as i'm concerned the screen is so bright that i keep natural setting and brightness about 10-20 % at max and increase only to watch picture upto a max 50-60%. Above it just gives me headackes because it is too bright. I also keep blue filter almost all the time on and i'm fine with it because it protects my precious eyes ; i only remove it to check photos true colours. Also if i check photos on computer screen i get about the same colors once i removed blue filters.

Like you said it "makes you prefer". So keep it personnal and stop bashing the phone.

By the way people here don't give a $%& if you recommend or not... Focus on real problems (software for example) instead on spamming on problems that are not and thus, wont be fix because nothing to fix.

Hi all. We all have our own opinions on things and thankfully, we're not all the same!

Whilst we try to take on board all feedback, good or bad, we do have systems in place through the Samsung Members app on your phone, where you can submit your comments and any subsequent error reports directly to our Developers, should you feel something is untoward or not quite right with your phone.

Whilst discussing these issues, we would ask, however, to make sure we stay within the Community Guidelines and Community Terms & Conditions.

i don't see how anything i've said breaks any rules, saying someone has a eye disease because they don't feel the same on the other hand, i like the note 10+ it looks nice i bought it because it looks like an xperia phone with no bezels the pen is a bonus even though i never use it, but i paid over 1000 dollars to get the best and i didn't get the best i got something really disappointing so i want that to be known it's not just the screen it's the cpu too the fold which has snapdragon feels so much snappier than the note i regret buying the note i completely regret it, there is no harm in criticizing things that have a cost like that, the note 10+ can very well be capable of having the best display as the panel is probably incredible but the calibration destroys it and the fact that theres nothing to fix that with and that samsung has been extremely noncaring of the calibration settings means they barely make no difference, so i am sure it could be good but software prevents that.

finally someone understands what i am trying to say, i did reference my xperia xz1 AS WELL which has an FHD display, the panel is inferior but the colors themselves appeal to me more because supervividmode boosts the contrast and saturation giving the colors a look no other display on a phone has it's something i personally missed a lot when i got the xperia 5 because the xz1 has stronger more vibrant colors than the 1 because they are boosted that way, the note 10+ costs over 1000 dollars it's the highest price you can pay for a phone so ofcourse i am disappointed and will post about it considering i lost over 1000 on this thats not a small amount of money, the images you are showing shows exactly what my problem is, galaxy phone displays are just warmer than any other display i've ever seen, but it seems it's by chance i don't know they all can't be that warm as your images, the fold display is miles better than the note 10+ it is still warm but enough for it to be a nitpick where it's great overall rather than the note 10+ where it was just terrible as the images you showed, i want some official explanation on why the display is like that or even why people prefer it that way i certainly don't, the only time such a display looks really good is on warm images like the desert map on mariokart looks amazing, bowsers castle map looks amazing too but thats because those maps are mostly brown and orange.

Well, officially the reason is that Samsung reduced the amount of harmful blue light in its panels before the S10 series came out.

You can make it kind of better by (funnily enough) activating the blue light filter and putting the filter strength to zero.

For some reason, this makes the display slightly cooler lol

tried that on the fold it didn't make it colder it just made it like 0.1% warmer very barely noticable unless you look really close at the white text getting slightly warmer when you turn the bluelightfilter on on the lowest strenght

out of curiosity based on the pictures you posted is that on the absolute coldest setting and do you see that as a defect or as a good thing, personally that looks terrible to me but some displays i have seen photos of of the s10 for example does not have that red hue that you have, the images you showed was exactly the issue i was experiencing on the note 10+ so that brings me back to the display lottery are they all like that are are just a few?

It is both panels on standard mode.

I cannot make note 10 cooler as it messes up the whole hue.

I can make the 1 warmer but it seems right how it is.

well thats strange my note 10+ looked like your images but my note 10+ was on the coldest possible setting with red and green turned down to 0 and blue to max which again makes me believe it's a defect or again display lottery and terrible quality control, the phone is now stuck in purgatory because samsung service doesn't seem to have proper communication with samsung so i have to keep messaging one while the other is misinformermed last samsung support told me is that that note 10+ is getting sent to them but samsung service says they heard nothing so yeah it's stuck.
