Note 9 android auto not working but S9 does??

When I plug my note 9 into the USB of my Peugeot, it keeps connecting then disconnecting immediately, but when I plug my wife's S9 into the USB it bring up android auto onto the cars screen no problem.

Both phones run samsung latest pie on one u/I.

Don't think it's android auto playing up, I'm thinking its either mirror link software on note 9 or the cars USB port can't handle the note 9?

Anyone else having a similar issue please help, thanks.....

Hi there, @MJSL.

Try this: Dial *#0808# from your phone. This will bring up a menu with a few options. Select MTP and AP. Then try connect your phone again.

But unfortunately it was already set to MTP and ADB. And as soon as I connect the USB it keeps connecting then disconnecting over and over.

If anyone knows why please help as it's driving me nuts!

I have noticed others with a note 9 unable to get android auto to work with a Sony stereo.

What is the issue with the note 9 and android auto?

This is pretty poor from Samsung if I'm being honest, especially given the cost of the note 9 😤
