I currently have the Note 10+

When i plug in a usb-c headphone adapter and use any pair of headphones, the audio comes thru just fine, but when i use an AUX cord i get no sound. I confirmed the auxilary cord is working just fine by plugging it into my iPad. This does not make sense to me considering if audio is going thru the jack, it should work with all audio plugs such as AUX cords, not just headphones. Can anyone find a solution to this problem? or are there any settings for the USB-C port to audio?

Thank you!

-Dino

Hi @Dino90

I see what maybe the problem, this can be caused by loss of analog signal quality. This is due to the very minimal power that is transmitted down a 3.5mm cable and the power loss over distance, I have found this a few times in the past whilst working with audio from analog to digital conversion as the usb C part of the cable does the converting of the analog signal to the phone. Which usb C dongle are you using?

I ordered yesterday Samsung Official USB-C to AUX adapter (new) from US Samsung to Samsung Finland which is not in stores yet but I ordered by Samsung Finland Official's Store Officially and tested on my phone Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus+ and didnt work. I tried other dongles too only Apple's worked but in very low volume. So whats the solution?? We need helpers. Also I returned the samsung dongle which is really awful that Samsung's dongle doesnt work on samsung device as Note 10 Plus.

More information about the Samsung Official USB-C to AUX adapter is designed for Note 10 and Note 10 Plus+ because of the Digital Audio (Digital Dolby) with high and filthy sound and suddenly not working.

There is a solution to this problem. You must use SAMSUNG brand adapter. No other universal brand will work. Only samsung. Which in my opinion is bull*****

Hey, so i know this is a year later, but I had the exact same issue with my OnePlus and i found noone else with this problem, where it would work with headphones and then with aux, but not if I didn't connect the headphones first.

I fixed it by turning Bluetooth off. I know it sounds strange, no Bluetooth devices were connected, but with Bluetooth off completely the usb2aux dongle works fine with an aux to an amp.

I have no idea why that fixes it but it did for me.

My best guess is that the phone recognises the usb to aux dongle as a headphone connection, but for some reason tries to use Bluetooth audio instead...

(I made this forum account just to tell you this because it seems like we are the only people in the world with this exact problem lol)

Edit:

Okay nevermind it's not working again. This is so stupid

Thanks for trying, I need the Bluetooth on for phone connection in the car which is when I use the auxiliary to send music through the stereo. the weird thing was that if I wobbled the connector the right way it would work until I unplugged again!

Over a year later, but I'll try to help...

I'm trying to use an Apple USB-C Headphone Adapter with my brand new Galaxy A16 and I'm experiencing a similar problem.

I can't seem to get through to their live support, either by text, chat or by phone. They keep hanging up on me.

Maybe try...

1) Try a different AUX cable. Maybe try a shorter one. Make sure it's not a Dollar General special. Try to use a good quality cable with proper shielding.

2) Make sure the AUX cable is *shielded* and that it's not a headphone cable. Speakers (like headphones) don't need to use shielded cables, but an AUX connection needs to be shielded from RF interference and electromagnetic hum fields (like from transformers nearby).

3) It could be Samsung's fault. The phone and/or its software may be looking for a very low impedance (like 32 ohms) which is typical for headsets, earbuds and headphones meant for use with mobile phones. An AUX input (like on your car radio) may have a much higher impedance, perhaps much higher than 10,000 ohms (10k ohms). It could be that the software programming 'sees' that high of an impedance as an open circuit (not connected at all) and therefore doesn't 'know' it's supposed to pass signal.

I tried a Turtle Beach Atlas USB 'soundcard' with a USB-A to USB-C adapter, and that works like a charm. So the phone might be very sensitive to what kind of USB audio adapter it's used with. Picky, picky, picky...

I hate compatibility issues, but it seems we're stuck in one. Has Samsung tried to update this yet?
