Being refused finance with a 967 credit score

Hi guys,

Hoping someone from Samsung sees this and picks up on it for me as I've tried contacting customer services myself which ended up a complete waste of time.

I'm being refused credit by Samsung finance, despite Experian saying I have a credit score of 967 currently. Super confused why Samsung think this means I can't be trusted with a £24 a month payment, any advice guys?

Have you tired a network provider or somewhere that sell phone on contract on their own

Usually a person can't be told why they haven't been accepted from a Credit Check @RuthlessAfro24

Their systems may only show an acceptance or declined status.

I'd advise to contact one or more of the Credit Houses, Experian being one, in order to check that nothing wrong has been recorded there.

It doesn't always come down to a credit score problem, or a certain time at the address. As a quick example, it can be due to the amount of incoming to outgoing payments. If a person has a mortgage and a car and something else on finance, then something else for the kids which is paid monthly, the credit check is ran to see if the customer can pay the finance (monthly cost) based on other payments per month.

To add even a clear Credit File with good Credit Score does not guarantee acceptance.

It's also good practice to let 90 days elapse before making another application in order to let the Credit Score recover.

My colleague at work was refused by Klarna so ended up using PayPal Finance to pay for their Fold³

Yes but sadly they either won't sele the phone without a contract or are out of stock entirely

Thanks for detailed response. Unfortunately all doesn't apply to me as all details were 100%, and don't have any serious outgoings other than 250 a month on rent.

Tried PayPal credit but this came up as an instant decline, I'm starting to think there's issues with the Samsung website as the declines come up almost instantly I think before any connection can be established. Same thing on my phone and laptop. : /

Had exactly the same my Credit score is 978 and Samsung Finance refused me credit. No response in the online chatbox or anything. Dusgusting support.

I used them for my s9 plus many years ago and recently finished paying for a samsung smart monitor using samsung finance. Now trying to get samsung finance for s22 and they say cannot verify me ?????? Calling customer support is a waste of time.

Just tried via samsung finance, it said try again later so i tried and tried, they it said try later… now i look like im scratching for credit. much calls and samsung told me to delete cookies, refresh etc… all the while the problem was my address missing a street. now my other Pre Approved credits with a different company are gone. i was just trying a finance on an OLED TV from Samsung Finance. now my perfect credit rating is messed up. how do we clear this up and hopefully restore my hard earned score?

I have had the same experience.

I got an email from Samsung promoting 0% interest suggesting that I click the link to take advantage of their offers.

So I went online completed the purchase and at payment completed Samsung Finance application.

It rejected the application [my Experian score is 999]

It suggested I pay by credit card.

Web chat did not help. Nor did phone/email customer service.

So I am a potential customer with a perfect credit score rejected by Samsung. Maybe I will stick with Sony...

I have just had the exact thing happen to me. I have a credit score of 974 so excellent. I have been declined a 0% interest rate for a new Samsung phone. However, my husband applied through Apple and received the 0% interest rate straight away. We have a joint account, our names on all household accounts, both fully employed and yet I am still declined for the 0% interest rate. Either they are lying about their 0% special or I would like an explanation on what basis I was declined.

I had the same issue today. I got decline for a measly £200 per month when I have a £186k salary. Some of my dinners cost me more. Called Samsung and the guy was absolutely no help. He just said check with transunion for your score. The odd thing is that when I clicked on submit it came up with a declined in less than 2 seconds so either they are using super computers or the system didn't do a check. It failed on identity check. I also didn't receive an email after so probably more likely that their system is broken or samsung just have the 0% option but don't offer anyone the 0% and want people to go with the interest option. I am going to report this to the watchdog

Just tried purchasing a Fold 5, over 12 months with Samsung finance, declined. I have an Experian score of 985 and very high on all other credit agencies, could anyone explain?

I just had thisnissue with credit score of 991/999 so you know samsung go **** yourself end enjoy your lowest sales in a decade you deserve this for the lackluster responses we are getting here just like you decided to **** on your loyal note fans now your ineptitude will make thisnthe worse flagship launch you have had in a decade

I have also been denied finance , perfect credit score , i have put my partners details in and again declined . So frustrating as who wants to outlay over £3000 when theres interest free credit apparently available. Very frustrating !!

Same with me, my credit history is to but still got declined by Samsung. Something definitely wrong with their criteria, probably they need those who are bankrupts 😂😂
