So I recently traded my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G in for £250 off of the S24 Ultra. My Note 20 was immaculate as I had kept it in a heavy duty armour case with built in screen protector. They received my phone and when processing it sent me an e-mail asking for £75 to be paid to MTR Group Ltd because the "device had been tampered with and had its screen replaced." The phone has never had any issues, so I've never had anything done to it whatsoever. I am refusing to pay and have requested my phone be returned as I could sell it myself for a better amount. Be very careful.

So because I kicked up a fuss and threatened legal action, they processed my phone without charging me, saying they had it looked at by another technician. I'll still be reporting it to an ombudsmen and I'll be e-mailing Samsung about it too because they're obviously trying to scam people.

You are attempting to minimize frustrations. 1 instance of this behavior on the part of Samsung is unforgivable, don't try to justify that. I have been a life long Samsung customer, but the truth is that in the past 5 years or so, Samsung continues to offer lousy customer service, attempts to push off warranty claims, slights customers in the trade-in program and its is impossible to cancel an order once it is placed. I have been a dedicated Android person for close to 40 years and now...Samsung is single-handedly pushing me to Apple. Yes, generally good products (down from great!), but the overall "Samsung experience" is not great.

Things do not always go smoothly. I know that there are some frustrated customers but was highlighting the general experience. It is up to each Member to determine if a Trade In is worthwhile. I recognise that customer service falls short on a number of occasions but Samsung not the only company with this issue.

To be fair it's not Samsung themselves. It's a third party company that Samsung hires to do the trade ins. I wonder if Samsung even knows it's going on. But as I said, as soon as I showed some resistance and refused to accept what they were saying, they soon put my trade through without further issue.

Hate hearing all of the problems everyone has had. I've used trade in 6 times and only had 1 problem but it was my fault. I used the wrong packing slip. It took a couple of chats with them but it was finally resolved. And it could have easily gone against me. I have nothing but praise for Samsung and the trade-in program.
