Initially I wanted to create a thread with how much you have to pay for apps, and than I remembered that most of them come with free versions so I decided to make 2 threads, one for the free versions, and one with the breakdown costs and how much you can save in various scenarios, which will come later.

The reason for these threads is that today I discovered Speechify and I am thrilled by it but disappointed that it comes for £2.83/week or £124 per year, which I am not going to pay and I will use the free features if I need them.

Here is the "Zero-Cost Workflow" for 2026, using only apps that offer unlimited core features. Instead of tables, I've broken this down into clean bullet points for easier reading.
1. Office & Professional Tools
• Google Docs, Sheets, & Slides
◦ Unlimited: Document creation, real-time collaboration, and unlimited file counts.
◦ The Limit: Uses your 15GB shared Google storage (text files are tiny, so this lasts years).
• Microsoft 365 (Web/Mobile)

A good summary but Google are rumoured to be charging soon.

I use Microsoft O365 watch out for deals and stack a family premium subscription, currently upto 2028 🔥

I do prefer Samsung integration One Drive and Samsung Gallery i thought were parting ways in April 2026.

Hopefully not MO365 I really use OneDrive the most probably 95% and the other 5% Teams, Excel, same with others on the Family account.

When I was using a Apple system alongside it was annoying no sync to OneDrive, but signed up and still have an active Apple Family storage account.

Samsung seem to flip flop in with their ecosystem, anyway if OneDrive looses Gallery sync I plan to go back to SSD backups, as dont trust Google either.
