I only really reset when I get a new phone. Large updates have never really cause a problem for me.

Android should be modern enough to handle updates without issue. Though of course sometimes things do go wrong for people

I don't usually reset after a software update. I usually just wipe the cage partition then galaxy app booster. Although wiping the cache partition now seems defunct.

Yep i dont think 8.5 is bug enough, but simply analogy I regularly but apps, delete Ring, Eufy, Smartthings data, cache and uninstall and reinstall, you'd be surprised minor changes missed but also solves app issues.

I have always factory reset after major OS releases and when getting a new phone.

But got the scare of my life when I switched from the s24 ultra to the S25 ultra as I had sent the S24 ultra as a trade in and decided to do a factory reset as It had issues with the transfer over and It kept asking for authentication on the phone itself. Which was quite the nightmare.

Biometric and two factor Authentication is good and nice until it wants to do on the same phone you have.

Will see how it goes as I have just too many Important financial apps and stuff to be stuck on authentication now.

If the phone works normally after the update, excellent! That is the expected outcome. 😀 If there are gremlins that the basic troubleshoot does not help, only then I go for the Factory Reset.

Not found the need to do a thing after any of the major updates. It really comes down to how customised your device is I guess.
