For me, it was the S2 as well. I was a die-hard Nokia fan, and got even to use the excellent (albeit buggy) 990, with resistive screen, slide-out keyboard, and MAEMO operating system.

S2 was such an upgrade that I never looked back. I tried - and hated! - the S3, but immediately fell in love with the Note 2. Big screen, S-Pen, strong performance, big battery, FM radio, a great camera, headphone jack - what's not to like? Then, it was Note 4 (the best Samsung phone for me, hands down, except for the missing FM radio), Note 8, Note 9, Note 20 Ultra 5G, S23 Ultra, and S25 Ultra (besides tablets and wife's phones).

Now, my main phone is a Sony Xperia 1 mark V.
