If you are looking for a flagship phone but don't quite have the money, considering some old flagships is still a viable solution. 💡💰 The compromise is that they come short of OS support in a couple of years, but you still get top flagship features, especially a great display, OS perks, and great cameras. 📸✨ Note: don't just buy from any corner shop. 🚫🛒 If you are buying online, make sure the phone is compatible with the geographical area where you are using it to avoid unwelcome surprises, such as the phone might not work or not update. 🌍📱 Make sure they come with a user guarantee too. ✅🛡️

https://youtu.be/KEOqQJT7dIA?si=AmV_onhv4Mw3nHIh

Like this, if we are truly trying to be sustainable or just avoid a sale loss for a 1 year old device to purchase a new one.

I would add, when buying look for official Samsung resellers.

So for the last couple of years I've upgraded annually.

Looking less likely this year as I've stated before.

Many features on newly released make their way down too.

Sustainability is important as @Obsydian has 💯 said.

I have everything with the S25U, thank goodness. It's fast and has great cameras, which is very important for me.

I probably would have still used my old S8, the S20 Ultra, or the Note 20 Ultra, which I bought because I didn't want a phone without an SD memory expansion card slot. However, the S8's speakers, charging port, and battery degraded horrendously. The S20 Ultra finally gave up its antenna and screen after surviving a huge amount of difficult falls, but it still works if need be. The Note20U, although I praise it and would use it for an absolute emergency, annoys me because it's not snappy, just like the S20 Ultra. If a phone is snappy, it's the utmost happiness for me, and of course, cameras are important too.

The video title is very misleading - "flagship" is the best offering of one company, not several different models with high specs.

Besides that, there are some baffling choices: the S22 Ultra has a lousy SoC and the Pixel has issues with battery degradation, so much so that Google announced they will limit the amount of charge a battery will hold after several number of charging cycles.

The OnePlus 11 is solid. But, to reach the 300$ price, it is the lowest RAM (8GB) and lowest internal storage configuration (128GB) possible. Which severely limits who could be happy with this phone in 2026.

I would rather spend a bit more on a S23 Ultra with 512GB of internal storage (same SoC as on the OnePlus), as the cameras allow for more flexibility, the S-Pen is great for note jotting and to take a picture or two with the press of its button, the screen is as gorgeous as the current Samsung flagship (bar the antiglare coating) and, overall, is a very nice phone to use.

I'm happy with my current set up so I'm sticking with whst I got for atleast 3 years before upgrading. The S25 Ultra is still a powerhouse to me.
