Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold officially stole the spotlight at CES 2026, marking the brand's shift from prototypes to a consumer-ready "phone-to-tablet" hybrid. After a limited launch in South Korea and select Asian markets in late 2025, the device is now confirmed for a US release in the first quarter of 2026. While its price tag sits at a steep $2,500, it represents the absolute peak of current mobile engineering, aimed at power users who want to carry a full-sized tablet in a pocketable form factor.

The device is defined by its massive 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, which features a QXGA+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. When you don't need the full screen, the 6.5-inch cover display offers a traditional smartphone experience with a high peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Despite its complex dual-hinge design, Samsung has kept the device remarkably thin, measuring just 3.9mm when fully unfolded, though its 309g weight makes it significantly heavier than a standard phone. Inside, the TriFold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite "for Galaxy" processor paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. To keep the large screen running, it utilizes a unique 5,600 mAh three-cell battery system that supports 45W fast charging. The camera setup is equally impressive, headlined by a 200MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, ensuring it maintains flagship-level photography alongside its productivity features. The software is where the hardware truly shines, as the 10-inch canvas allows for three full-sized apps to run side-by-side. It also includes support for Samsung DeX, essentially turning the device into a pocketable workstation. The phone is available in 3 main colours: Silver Shadow, Navy and Pink, 2 colours that are exclusive to the Samsung store, which are Crafted Black and White.

Certainly would be great to try it out and such an innovative product. Might still be a bit concerned with Durability though .

After testing the Fold 6 I am not so worried about durability. Reviewers say the hinges look sturdy.
What worries you more about durability?

My honest opinion is no I wouldn't 😂. Love the idea of the Z fold and unfortunately haven't tried one properly. But come on, how big do you really need a smart phone 🤔🤷

For me the deal breaker is the camera and the screen. They are interesting because the screen is more versatile than a slab phone and they feel a tad faster too.

I wouldnt buy this specific model as for me it makes no sense over a normal tablet. Any editions in the future would depend on battery size and how many screens can be used. I would want to be able to use it like the Huawei Tri Fold- slab phone screen, fold size screen and tablet screen.

I think this phone will find it's niche of customers when it will become more available around the world.
It's one of the best in it's range.

Samsung didn't ask me to post anything. I am not a Samsung employee.
I like Samsung tech because it's reliable, at least, I never had a major problem with them. I post new tech, old tech, software, anything I like as long as I refer myself from promoting other brands on Samsung's own forum because it would be against common sense.

I think Samsung will always have a loyal fanbase as everything just works. Hardware wise, other companies are miles ahead. But its not just hardware. Its the software, customer support- which for me Samsung does better than anyone.

Oppo Find X9, for example was many YouTubers phone of the year. There is a reason for that, but it still did not outsell Samsung in the UK.

Mentioning the competition is not promoting, but showing what Samsung is competing with, and in some cases falling behind in.

I think Samsung needs to improve the hardware on their Tri Fold for sure.

Yes i believe Samsung can learn from other companies at this moment in time. I like their software because it does everything and everything is easy to install and use on a Samsung phone. I have tried one of their Fold phones and i was very impressed, from the software POV I certainly recommend their Fold phones.

Although I am a big Z fold fan with my fold 7... I am not sure i would go as far as a trifold. I think the need to double open every time would be a bit more of a pain.

The fold 7 serves my use perfectly.

I say all this now... but I also said I wouldn't buy the fold 7... and yet here we are ! 😂😂😂

No concerns about durability from me anymore. My original anxiety has gone completely since owning for a number of months. I treat this fold7 like any other phone... it is not covered in wool or anything.

After owning nearly all the ZFOLD and FLIP devices every single one was treat with OCD levels or care all but the ZFLIP5 has the SoD.

Trifold for me, would be Cost and Samsung no quibble Apple style swaps, plus I find the ZFOLD7 is a sweet spot, price, inner and outer screen.
