New Remote for elderly Parents

Hello,

My elderly parents recently bought a new TV.
I always like to get involved to help, but they will just buy anything they see, and i would of got one half the price.

The only thing with this one is that it has built in apps, or smart TV if that's what it's more known as.

The old TV i added an Amazon TV stick which was only setup for You tube which was perfect as they like Music/Films etc.
They were used to how it works as the just changed the source to HDMI.

I removed the Amazon stick, with a view to using the built in You tube which i got working under the previous G mail account rather than creating a Samsung account.

I removed/disabled all the apps that they are unlikely to use leaving just You Tube so easier to navigate too.

The new TV remote is quite small with buttons very close to each other and even i struggled to use it.

I've added a link to one I've seen, it really only needs to change the source from TV to the Apps which i showed my mum but it is still not easy for them.

I think even pressing the Home Button will swap from TV to Apps too.

This remote looks ideal but looks like it's shipped from China going by the seller name and will take a while to arrive and doesn't have much / good feedback.

Should i look for a UK seller or are they all likely to be made abroad.

It does show a volume control, which i am sure will work , as i don't want them to have 2 remotes.

Any recommendations/links will be appreciated , or does the one attached look ok.

I should of made a note of the Model but i believe it's has Qled in the name.

Usually two Remotes would come with modern Smart Tv's, the Smart Remote (if compatible) and the standard Remote.

I could not vouch for the Remote you linked, whilst seems designed for seniors obviously not the best of reviews .

Hi.

Thanks for reply, my Dad did show me this other remote which i had not seen before or knew what it was without looking it up now. it is just something else to confuse them. It looks like the Firestick one which they have lost.

That link is similar to what they have, and buttons a bit small.

I will probably go for something with the bigger buttons seeing as their cheap.

as long as it does the basics.

I think the buttons are sticky/stuck on the current one which doesn't help.

I am a few hours drive away, so a pain when these techie things need doing.

Ok no problem, as long as you find something that is apt. Pity parents are further away but I guess needs must.
