Following the success of Gemini 3 pro Google has now upgraded the default model to Gemini 3 Flash. Despite being built for speed Gemini 3 Flash punches well above its weight, it combines the pro grade's reasoning with latency, efficiency and cost.

It actually outperforms Gemini 3 Pro, Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Claude Sonnet 4.5, GPT-5.2, and Grok 4.1 Fast in terms of multi modal understanding and reasoning.
