I am REALLY hope they allow you to still choose, and automatically sync, with one drive. If not, this will be the a deal breaker with me. I use OneDrive as my main storage for all documents on computer and phone.

This will push be to try other android providers like OnePlus or Nothing phone.

According to a report in Android Authority ,strings in the One Ui 8.5 version of the app seem to confirm that Sync With One Drive will be ending soon with photo back moving back to Samsung cloud. If so things will have gone full circle after the change in 2019. You would still be able to back up to One Drive if you wish . However to date this is unconfirmed, a number may welcome such a change though.

see more details here https://www.windowscentral.com/hardware/phones/samsung-to-drop-microsoft-onedrive-on-galaxy-phones-photo-cloud-backups-are-moving-to-a-new-service

Think there are mixed opinions on this, One Drive was fine for me though it was a bit strange when Samsung Cloud was downgraded. some had issues with syncing

For me this will end with a loss for the customer, most likely yet another paid subscription, or just one more piece to an already disjointed ecosystem.
