I stumbled across an advert in the weekly magazine...

I was reading the TV magazine and saw this advert page. I thought it a bit strange, as i was unaware of companies that perhaps 'modify' the stock android, or change the behaviour... other than the launchers we know are available.

This company easology.net promise to give large text, a dedicated home button and supersized touch areas. Probably all things that you can modify yourself if you know how in the OneUI settings. I..e. it is easy to have very large writing and switch to the usual home buttons that some prefer.

I guess the biggest change is the price...£259 for an A16 that was originally £139 full price on Samsung store and currently at £119.

Note I am not promoting this offer but rather bringing it to the forum ... as I haven't ever seen any such adverts in my past with samsung on this forum.

Has anyone else seen any kind of advertising like this from similar companies ?

Curious how well developed it is compared to easy mode. Because samsung phones can already do most of that

Samsung used to have an Easy Mode and gave up on it.
Not keen on custom launchers too many permissions.

That said it is a good reminder and reinforces a more accessible UI.

That was my understanding. Easy mode and turning off the app drawer functions... increase font and spacing is fairly easy with the settings... I can see most can be done.

I guess for elderly and less technical people, to have this all set up for them is probably a worthwhile consideration. 🤔

For us, I think 10 minutes with the UI settings and the bulk of it can be achieved.

Yeah... it is easy to turn off the app drawer to make it all home screen use... increase icons and font sizes and generally for easy use.

But only if you know how to do it. I do support my elderly parents with their phones and it is surprising how confused it can become.
