Ugreen 45w charger and 100w cables

Seen a couple of posts about chargers. I got a Ugreen 3 port 45w charger for £13.98 and 2 Ugreen 100w cables for £5.69. Both from Amazon. Getting super fast charging 2.0 so thumbs up.

Be a little bit careful, I've noticed third party chargers can put extra wear on the s25 series when using 5a cables.

Basically, the s25 series (plus and ultra) have 2 45w modes. 10v and 15v.

10v mode needs a 5a cable and makes extra heat

15v doesn't need a 5a cable and is more efficient.

Third party chargers I've found really struggle with getting 15v working. Eg, I have an anker charger, using a 3a cable gets me "super fast charging". Meaning 25w, meaning 10v. Using a 5a cable gets me "super fast charging 2.0" which means 10v at a high amperage, causing more heat. So 45w but hotter than it could be.

The official samsung charger has a similar issue. If you use a 5a cable, the charger uses 10v high amps to get 45w. If you use a 3a cable, it uses 15v at low amps. Still 45w but a lot cooler for the device.

A little checklist.

3a cable, super fast charging=charger doesn't handle 15v correctly, 25w

3a cable, super fast charge 2.0=optimal charging, 45w at lower temperatures

5a cable, super fast charge 2.0=45w, but probably using 10v, causing extra heat to the battery.

This has never been an issue before because the s25 series is the first samsung phone to have this dual voltage thing. And chargers get very confused. It will still charge at 45w in the 10v mode. It just might overheat and slow down sooner and might also cause faster battery aging.

The s24 plus and ultra only support the 10v mode. So it's not harmful, it's just the s25 series has a new more efficient way to charge, but it's buggy

I am using an Anker 6 ports fast charging station and it's the best thing I ever had, I am using only original cables from the certain devices to charge, I also use Anker and Ugreen/Techgear charging cables if the devices require different USB port, i don't use any other brand for charger or charging cables.

I've reverted to using a 3a cable. The 3a cable gives me super fast charging with the Ugreen charger and super fast charging 2.0 when using a Samsung 45w charger. 👍

👍 meaning the ugreen one doesn't support the more optimal charging mode, and the samsung charger is definitely using the more optimal charging mode
