I know this isn't anything to do with Samsung ... But today I got a message from my bank saying my account was trying to be used in Pakistan for credit cards and money loans I've no idea how this could have happened as I'm really careful but it was a data breach I'm told and I only have a few accounts .....

Be Careful out there 20k I've now got to try and show them it wasn't me ..... OMFG

Not a great time to ask to borrow some cash then?

It will be easily resolved.

1. Bank will cancel your card,
2. New card will be issued
3. All transactions you don't recognise will not get paid by the bank

No loss to you financially but a worry never the less.

Yes they have stopped card gone through 15 requests since yesterday and I've confirmed it wasn't me especially as I don't have a passport to fly anywhere

If the company suffered a data breach. Then, it's important to change all of your account passwords and always be a lookout for scam calls and texts. If your bank cancelled your card, then you shouldn't really be worried. The company that suffered the breach they are by law to notify you if they suffered a breach. And its their fault for not keeping their systems secure.

Very sound advice.

Sadly it can take days or even weeks before the Company openly owns up to the breach......

Leaving their customers in the dark.

Thankfully the OP will not be financially impacted although she is well advised to be triple cautious for the moment and not trust anyone or anything she doesn't know.

The problem is I haven't a clue whom the company is ... They did say Google was tempted to purchase something from and order something from pet something for 500.00 and then 13 odd attempts in rupies but I'm going through changing every password on everything x

This is why it's important to use most security measures like biometric logins and 2FA where possible. It's still a worry but every bit helps.
