One UI Updates Could Arrive Faster After Samsung Adopts Trunk Stable Development

The anticipated quicker roll out of One UI8 is partly because Samsung has followed Google in adopting Trunk Stable Development.

Traditionally new software followed a Branch approach,features would be added and the branch would need to be meged back into the main codebase and resulted in conflicts that needed to be resolved. With the Trunk development everything takes place on a stable branch, unfinished code is inactive until it is complete.

Not at all.

Updates will always come to the most recent flagships first then the others eligible will follow.

These are not "delays". The tech inside these devices evolves every year so updates change every year hence why they take a bit longer.

Or would you prefer that the tech doesn't get better and instead you have devices that don't improve year on year?

They don't improve! 24 ultra has worse screen and cameras than older models. Thanks for the white lies.

I agree that the S24 Ultra (pre-ordered devices) had poor cameras which is why I upgraded to S25 Ultra.

But the screen? No way. Screen On S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra devices are brilliant.

My OnePlus 11 has better colours and doesn't suffer from grains in dark mode and low brightness. It is a shame because if the screen was better the 24 Ultra would definitely be Ultra but as it is it's just a Galaxy phone...
