Be interesting if they ever released comparative figures from another temperature to give a rough idea. Not sure that would be as easily 'PR'able though, as it wouldn't be as straightforward.

According to Samsung Display the Z Fold7 will last over 10 years for average users ,6 years for Heavy users who Fold their Device more than 200 times a day without Durability concerns. I would imagine many will be upgrading way before then

In testing over 132 days at 25°C the Foldable OLED panel remained fully functional after 500,000 Folds. However obviously real life experiences will vary.

see more detail here https://global.samsungdisplay.com/31384

That's quite a jump as the Fold 5/6 was rated at 200,000 folds I believe (5 years).

Time will tell how well the new hinge fairs but that's exactly what fans want to be hearing. Previous Folds could sometimes go in the 2nd year if you were unlucky (like any phone) so if you could get 3/4 years (Ignoring their estimates) from one reliably that's a much more enticing option for a heavy user.

I just thought about the fact you noted the temperature. We (Along with much of the world) aren't always in +°C. I know materials can be more brittle when cold, So do the screens age faster in the reality of winter months. Especially with a charge providing a rapid thermal cycle to the materials. It's definitely colder than 25°C in the UK most of the year.

Reviving a dead post slightly but that information is apparently provided now. I plotted a quick dirty chart as an approx as it doesn't account for any likely dynamic curve to the resistance figures with temperature being linear but we could do with 5 metrics really for a idea on curve. Also I could be right that using high CPU apps like video recording, gaming and on device AI with wireless charging could marginally contribute towards reducing this with the device going through thermal cycles as it will act as a heatsink but being that the CPU is not placed against the hinge area this would help reduce this. Maybe this is why it has slower cooler wireless charging speeds?

With -20°c being just 60,000 folds
25°c being 500,000 folds
60°c being 300,000 folds

Average UK Winter temp is 2-7°c with occasional drops below Samsung's recommended usage limit of 0°c due to the battery to average of -3.5c,
Spring 6-18°c,
Summer 9-18°c with sporadic heatwaves up to 30°c
Autumn 3-16°c.

This puts our average temperatures mostly in the lower areas of resistance, though those working in controlled environments would likley have this closer to 16-19°c which would help the hinge.

I'd image a light cpu load actually helps quite a bit throughout the year (Just not in a heatwave) as an unintended bonus I'm pleased to say just using the example cooler temps of 5°c Is about 304,000 folds and 10°c is 440,000. Even a very wintery day of -3°c gives 226,000. The device is more resistant in a cold winter for us than it used to be under it's best conditions (200,000) the fold 6 🙏. Massive improvement, they should highlight it more (perhaps keeping a cautious approach)

Source: https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-7-screen-durability-temperatures-3581884/

PS. Probably not a phone for someone who works in industrial freezers or abroad where you get bad winters.
