Younger people use Apple because it's simpler and all their friends have iPhones, Samsung is for work and is used by older, more serious people-words of some young Korean 🤭.

When I was their age I also preferred any other brand than Apple. Apple products looked very good but they were over priced for the time and they were tied up to all kind of fees, even for a ringtone, while you could find everything for free for Android and Symbian, but I don't regret not using Apple, because Android were more versatile and Symbian was very user friendly and I loved them. I have been using Samsung since HTC and Symbian were out of the market and Samsung was better than anything else, at least for me, I preferred the pre-installed apps, which other called 'bloatware' I found it as a helping hand because all I needed was an account to use Microsoft, Rocket Player and everything i can think about and there was very little for me left to install on my phone. Cameras were better than most phones too and they always came equipped with the necessary memory to run those apps easily. I always got maximum satisfaction from midrange Samsung phones, not to mention the Gorrila Glass, and it wasn't mentioned in the specs, but they survived alot of rain and other ways of being in water, but the rain was not in brief amount though, and nothing happened to them.

The young generation adopting their brand is their future or they are doomed.

See where I live in the UK Iphone is a must. Like most people I talk to use Iphone even my best friend does.

A phone is a phone and I personally believe that whatever phone you use shouldn't be social status.

Something my best friend and I both agree on is that our phones work. They do what they gotta do.

Do I wish he swapped to Samsung? Yes! Does he wish I would join the trend and get iphone? Most likely but we don't force or make fun of each other or others because of our phone.

If I add personal biased to this i would definitely say Samsung offer a more complex user interface where as Iphone is just that. Simple for those who don't really mess around with stuff.

Until Android came along, I didn't like Samsung, I had a SonyEricsson. Then Android came along and I bought a Samsung for the first time. I've stayed with Samsung to this day. I've never really been interested in the iPhone.

I completely agree with younger people mainly using iPhones. I see this with all my family and colleagues. Until last year, I'd been an iPhone user since the 3GS days as it had some very well-developed apps for photography.

However, the iPhone started to feel hindering to me in my job, being unable to multitask apps. So I swapped to S24 Ultra as it seems to have a good set-up for it with the edge bar integrating into the split screen view and I like Goodlocks button customisation. I nearly got the Fold but I'm so rough with phones and take a lot of pictures this seemed like the best compromise. You can also get mobile video rig frames for it, which historically have been very iPhone-centric which helped finilse my choice.

Perhaps it's true that Samsung becomes attractive when you're old, boring and more interested in efficient productivity than what cool new apps just come out 😂

I value the time it gives me back for a more affordable price.

I dislike the chin on iPhones and face ID is totally useless to me. The fact it lacks a fingerprint sensor is a no go for me. Charging slow, extremely high priced, even more than Samsung's with less features, it's never been an interest for me. I also detest Apple as a company for many years, long before the iPhone, so that plays a huge part too 😂

Apple really ticked me off back when I had my 5S. I used it to shoot work videos, and with the right app it did a 3k open gate recording since launch – great for editing to a 1080p video to pan crop. It could play 4k video since it's first iOS version, like the new models now can play 8k I send, just not shoot it. iOS 11 killed that ability with no warning, trapping my projects on the phone in a unusable state forcing me to upgrade to an iPhone X just to get them back to work on again in location as editing on a PC isn't always possible. All companies do things like this at times though, I remember the Linux split system support being removed as a feature from the PS3 with an os update despite launching with it.
