Whilst Google's Gemini is a powerful AI application handling a multitude of requests requires a lot of personal context.

According to data from Surfshark Gemini collects 22 out if 35 Data types which include sensitive data like location,user content, the devices contacts list and Browsing history. only Google Gemini, Copilot, and Perplexity were found to collect precise location data.

The controversy surrounding Deepseek was that the provider's privacy policy states that the Data is held for as long as necessary. However potentially it may be that Data shared with 3rd parties that causes more concern. Copilot, Poe, and Jasper are the three apps that collect Data for tracking purposes.

customers though can take some steps by being careful of information provided to chatbots and reviewing sharing settings. As with a lot of Technology there are trade offs and customers can decide if the benefit outweigh any misgivings.

I read a similar article about how Google uses cookies and stuff and this creates problem for Android companies like Samsung etc.

This is one of the reason why the Google play updates are usually slow to arrive on Samsung phones.

Both companies apparently trying to do more ON device AI etc.

Might see something with the Pixel 10 and the S26 series. 🙏

They are mostly focused on Ai. If google and samsung prioritise security over Ai, then updates would get rolled out faster. I remember last month when sansung released the February security update late on the s23. I don't usually mind waiting.

It's a bit of misnomer expecting a digital assistant to not collect your personal information if you ask me. It's like asking your secretary at work to undergo brain surgery once they see any personal documents pertaining to your personal life to remove memories.
