As we all seen Samsung’s move integrating more and more Google apps with their latest S25 series now we lost chance on samsung messages on play store to download.

Option is still there on galaxy store and you will be able to use samsung messages until further announcements from Samsung directly when they decide when to terminate app once and for all if it will happen.

Android authory got email directly from Samsung on what's going on and here's one of their responses in the email:

"With the close collaboration between Google and Samsung, we have opted to migrate all services to Google Messages and are sunsetting Samsung Messages. It’s no longer available in the PlayStore; however, those who chose to utilize Samsung Messages are still able to do so. We believe that the added functionality of RCS messaging on Google Messages creates an enhanced user experience for both Android-to-Android messaging and across platforms"

T-mobile sent a notice yesterday about the discontinuation of MMS service here. MMS is becoming a thing of the past.

Seems like everything moving towards Google, personally using Google messages and I find it really good, needs to add few things from samsung messages but its good for my liking anyway 😁 I know a lot people will be upset but I do agree with you it is what it is not much we can do about it, unless we all stand who wants to save Samsung messages ha😂

I've been on Google Messagges for 3 years now. It's a better app than any other. Without MMS Samsung Messagges is really dead, it's back to the days of 20 years ago

O2 In UK offers discounted devices for those who don't have 4G devices (or heavily discounted ones so they have greater device while keeping 4G on whilst 3G being cut off)

3G has been tuened off in the US, most network have turned it off here in the UK

3G is old and not needed, the frequency can be recycled for further network bands

It's likely because Google finally got the networks to support RCS messaging that works over data like WhatsApp. I know 3 and a few others in the UK already support it and really it is free (within data limits) even for media messages and even integrated with iPhone messenger. So it was likely Samsung didn't see a reason to totally remake the message to work over RCS.

I really prefer Samsung Messages, I only tried Google Messages momentarily mind you. However with the Google integration Samsung's version is on the way out and the company thinking is not worthwhile to maintain it properly. Sure we will get used to Google's alternative but at the moment can still use Samsung Messages if already installed.

I used to use samaung messages but when I switched i do prefer Google ones way more (from my experience) also I've noticed that samaung won't terminate bixby (while we speaking Google taking over Samsung apps) on s25 series it was shown they both are combined and sometimes it will use bixby and most of the times Gemini

I'm still holding onto Samsung Messages, planned to upgrade to the S25. Looks like I will be upgrading to a darn iPhone instead 😑

I don't want Google messaging. It is not good and does not allow blocked messages into blocked folder. This is not ok
