So with the S25 range just a few weeks away, what kind of preorder deals would be persuasive enough to take the offer ?

With the unpacked event just a few weeks away for the upcoming S25 launch, the pre-orders will soon be here. The new Samsung S25 range should be equipped with Android 15 and OneUI7, and most of the specs have already now been leaked (unofficial sources).

I am pretty keen on the idea of an upgrade myself from my s23u to s25u, within my usual 2 year change cycle... but it seems once again from leaked information, that the updates are fairly incremental between the ultra's. Typically by now the leaked information is usually pretty accurate and from fairly reliable sources such as "iceuniverse" amongst others.

This post isn't to discuss the specs of the phone, but rather what 'Pre-order deals' would get you keen on making an upgrade ?

Samsung freebies... i.e. Buds, Chromebook, watch, case etc ?
A good discounted price ?
Elevated trade in prices against your current device ?
Percentage discounts towards other tech bought at the same time ?
A good discount against the cost of care+ insurance ?

I will start with my hopes. As I have recently already been impatient in the run up to Christmas and bought a new Galaxy Watch Ultra, Buds 3 Pro, and a new tablet S9FE, the offer of free tech from the Samsung range is a bit surplus to my needs right now.

- I would like to see a good discounted price for early adopters during pre-order,

- I would also like to see an extra special trade in offer for my previous phone. (I may actually pass my S23u to my daughter and trade her base model S23, to give her the better phone).

- maybe a discount on cases, say 50% off Samsung genuine case during pre-order.

- Finally the icing on the cake would be to have an offer on insurance, perhaps half price or likewise, to give me accidental protection.

Perhaps to have all of these is a big ask. What would you ideally like to see as an offer ??

We'll probably see a Trade-in offer, Pre order reductions, and or auto increase in Internal storage capacity for the same price type deals, and the Samsung Buds³ or the Samsung Buds³ Pro as an incentive to purchase 🤔 @smiley @

Many may have received the email with with the £50 off voucher if applied for.

Alot of tech sites / social media platform creators are saying it looks to be an incremental update if a person owns a Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Series already.

We'll see.

A large trade in is what I'm hoping for. Or maybe an extended satalite plan if they added satalite connectivity to it like iphones have

Totally agree on the large trade in value part, but not the satellite if they do add that.
I'm hoping to see some free things for example a free laptop, buds 3, watch 7 or something like that. But we'll just have to wait and see.

My thoughts on satellite are: Apple gives a free satellite service for two years. Samsung offers free AI until 2026. So, if satellite is included, it will likely have a limited free usage plan. It might be nice for people getting this brand-new feature to be able to use it for longer without paying more.

(I'm sounding way more formal as I was lazy and just hit Samsung ai fix my grammar and spelling)

Know that some would br interested in satellite conmectivity but donoy think it is the biggest selling point. Biggest appeal will be the Trade Ins and offers.

That's a big ask for Samsung to offer, like Free Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, a laptop or even a watch. I know in the U.S., they've offered massive discounts on top of 50% so that we could see something like that in Canada, but only time will tell.

not really a big ask, Considering right now they're offering a Samsung chrome book on some phones, free galaxy buds 3 pros on selected tablets and discounts on watches. they've recently (in the past few months) had a free watch with the s24 series.

I bought some buds 3 pro last month on a whim. I had the buds 2 pro already but wanted to try them for myself instead of the reviews.

I am impressed with buds3pro... much moreso than I expected to be. I would buy them again given the change for a second time... which usually says how good something is. That being said I am no audiophile. The buds3pro are impressive IMO.

In my opinion yes... but i guess it is user opinion. The B2P were so good that it was a big bar to beat, but I think they are. The sound has a better bass response and dynamic range.

Certainly for me they fit nicely... I know some say their ear shape doesn't suit.

The case even feels like a well engineered addition that makes them feel premium.

Just one thing is that the B2P at night in bed are more discreet and therefore don't interfere with comfort on pillow etc... the B3P are not quite as comfortable in that circumstance.

Do you think it's worth the upgrade from an S23+? I got my phone direct from Samsung and have 7 months left to pay on it. Do you think Samsung will be able to offer some type of "special trade-in offer" to purchase a S25 or is it best to keep my current phone, as again, these phones comes with a minimum of 4 years of software updates?

Only you can decide your budget and needs.

To be honest I own the S23 ultra and it is still a fantastic phone.

Does it do everything i need it to ? YES absolutely.

Do I really need to upgrade to the S25ultra ? NO not really. The changes with the new handset will not be massive and the S23u will still get the newest android for oneUI7.

I guess i have a fairly healthy tech budget, and I like to have the latest. For phones I usually upgrade every two generations and so I skipped the S24 and have an expectation to consider buying the S25u.

BUT the preorder deals, trade in price, and extras need to be right. At £1200 to 1400 these are a lot of money so incentives are a must.

From a financial perspective you should see how samsung / Klarna will handle a mid-term change. You may have to fulfil your costs on the s23+ first.

For info the preorders deals are usually pretty good, but equally there will be further deals all through the year. So if you have to wait until summer specials or when your finance is completed then you won't miss out.

I absolutely agree with you, OneUI 7 will come to the s23, and usually, there are minimal changes to the next model, such as slightly better screen res, subtle bezel design changes...
