      <title>New Samsung soundbar no sound!</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hi all!&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I’m trying to connect a soundbar to a TV for someone. I heard that it was working properly before (I’m not sure what the settings were at that time), but I can’t get it to work now. I don’t hear any sound!&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;TV: Samsung UE50J6240AW (older model&lt;/STRONG&gt;)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;HDMI Anynet+ (CEC) is turned on&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Audio output format set to PCM&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Sound output in the TV menu set to Receiver (HDMI) (I can see the audio meter moving on the screen, but I don’t hear any sound!&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Soundbar: Samsung HW-Q800F&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Set to HDMI eARC/ARC mode&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Everything is connected via the correct HDMI port (ARC on the soundbar to ARC on the TV).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Question: Why is there no sound?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I hope someone can help me with this, because I’m completely stuck!&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks in advance,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Mark&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Also I got lazy and used AI for the below&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Change Audio Output Type:&amp;nbsp;If your device is set to PCM and there is no sound, change the audio format setting to&amp;nbsp;Bitstream,&amp;nbsp;Dolby Digital, or&amp;nbsp;Auto. PCM often requires more bandwidth or specific decoding that some soundbars cannot handle via ARC.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check Cable Connections:&amp;nbsp;Ensure HDMI ARC or optical cables are securely connected to both the TV and the audio device. Unplug them and plug them back in firmly.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Toggle eARC/ARC Mode:&amp;nbsp;If your TV has eARC, try turning it off or switching to standard ARC mode, as this can sometimes cause handshake issues.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Restart/Power Cycle Devices:&amp;nbsp;Turn off the TV and the audio system, unplug them from the power outlet for a minute, then turn them back on to reset the HDMI handshake.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Update Firmware:&amp;nbsp;Check for firmware updates for both your TV and soundbar/receiver, as this can resolve audio compatibility issues.</description>
