Camera lens protectors - Warning ⚠️

I used to have this fitted to my old S20 Ultra, but quickly realised it affected the camera lens focusing and a very faint tinge, so I removed it after a week and just stuck it on a mobile stand.

I have tried a few times to remove it and failed, so today used brute force and a knife, even then it only came off in small pieces.

Maybe worrying if say it gets scratched and you decide to replace it on the mobile, would cause serious damage.

In all the years of having smartphones. Only once did I get a slight mark on a camera lens. Even then it was a freak accident when I dropped the phone and it landed on the camera lens first on some stuff I had on a table.

I did use a lens protector, and quickly realised my photos were affected. So haven't used one since.

Samsung actually recommends not to use any camera protector due to that fact, that it can damage the camera lens if when trying to remove them even throu a lot of people do use them.

Just came across this and wanted to share that one of my camera lens protectors was cracked and I didn't notice until it cut my thumb (and yepp, it bled). I took it off and one thing I noticed was the camera did focus a lot better with just one out of 3 protectors removed.

This is the first set of lens protectors I've used and its been probably about a year and a half that they've been on. I never had anything happen to any of my phones lenses before using these things. I definitely agree with not using these protectors. Just a good phone case should be enough protection, since they protrude out more than the lenses do. (Edit: accidentally pasted photo in middle of text.)

I think a lot of them do sit higher than the lens. Mine did. No damage removing. Only cutting my thumb... the tempered glass shattered on one of them and I didn't notice. Grabbed my phone and I felt something cut me. These things are no good.

I forgot how good my phone's camera actually is, too. These protectors are garbage.

Yes more of us found adding 3rd party protection was bad for the camera and yes difficulties removing them.
