Unlinked Smart Tag 2 from account, but it still says the tag is linked to an account.

I removed my smart tag from my account to move it, but now I can’t add it back. It says the tag is still linked to an account, but it doesn’t show up in the original account, and I can’t reconnect it to the original account.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

How-to-remove-the-samsung-smarttag

If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.

To reset a Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2, you can try these steps:

Open the SmartTag's battery cover
Remove the battery
Press and hold the button in the center of the SmartTag
While still holding down the button, reinsert the battery
Hold down the button for five seconds, then release it

Snap the battery cover back into place

I have a similar issue. May smart tag2s (all 4 of them) are no longer showing on my account. I bought them last year, had them all set up and working well. My phone did an update to Smartthings and now I can no longer see them on the app. I have reset them per the instructions above successfully, but I continue to get the message that they are "already connected to a different account and have to be removed from that before they can be connected". I have no way of removing them from my account, as I can't see them anywhere.

So it appears no one has been able to resolve this puzzle. Surely Samsung/Google has had a gazillion queries about this and found a work-around. Clearly NOT!
