Smart Remote Turns ON tv when CH up or down button is pressed while the TV is OFF

I have two different Samsung TVs from 2019 and 2021 model both came with Samsung smart remote.
I noticed that while the TV is OFF, pressing the smart remote's CH up or down Turns ON the TV.
Shouldn't the smart remote buttons except the Power ON/OFF button be inactive while the TV is OFF?
Could it be a bug in the TV firmware?

De toetsen worden alleen actief al je er op drukt.
Welke van de 2 tv's wordt er ingeschakeld? Onduidelijk.
Welke randapparatuur is er aangesloten op op beide tv's?
Firmware staat hier los van. Er zou dan bij 2 verschillende tv's een bug aanwezig zijn.

What I meant was that both TVs behave similarly. I discovered the issue I described above on my recently purchased Samsung QN95AA 65" TV. Then I went to the room where the other TV is located and tested the CH up or down button with its own smart remote and the TV turns ON.
I have a short video showing turning off my QN95AA tv with the Power button and then turning it on with CH button.
If you point me how I can share the video, then I'd be happy to send you right away.

Hi @Henonig ,

There is no need to post a video. I just tested on my 2 TVs and it happens here too.
You activate the internal tuner of the TV with this. Samsung TV Plus now sits on that spot.
This is not a bug and unfortunately you can't change this..

Well, when I first discovered the issue, I also suspected Samsung TV Plus is the reason; however the remote CH still turns on the TV after Disabling Samsung TV Plus.

How come the so called Smart Remote fails to function as Conventional Remote and it's considered as normal? I

I also doubt if Samsung has intended the Smart Remote to work this way. I've looked in to so many documentations and this issue is never mentioned. That's why I still believe that this is a bug that went undetected for so long. I'd appreciate if you could alert the responsible team to look into the issue and potentially fix it in the next software update.

I doubt if there will be a software update for this.
That should happen for all Samsung TVs, because every TV has its own software..

Hi @Henonig, good morning.

It's completely normal that your TV starts when you press the CH + or - button. This is for almost every TV brand the same 😇 You can't adjust this, the reason why it's called a Smart Remote is because it works with Infra Red and Bluetooth signals and you can connect it to other devices.
