The sign in screen goes dark within just a few seconds. Is there a way to increase the time for signing in before it goes black? I'm not asking about the time that the device locks due to inactivity; here I'm asking about sign-in.

Hello,

When you touch the screen it shouldent go dark, this gives you time to sign in.

Hi Patrick. Thank you for your response. I need to increase the time on the login screen before it times out. I only allows a second or 2. Any idea how?

The screen timeout pertains to inactivity while on the device. It is not relevant to signing into the device, my area of focus on this current inquiry. I appreciate your help. It's likely that there simply isn't a setting.

Yes i think thats the case too.

The only option would be to send feedback to Samsung > Samsung Members app > Support > Feedback.

On a telephone you can set that screen stays on as long as you look at it. If you have that option maybe it helps?

Oke, strange. My old Samsung tablet has it. 🤔

And If you try this...

Navigate to Settings and then search for and select Keep screen on while viewing. Tap the switch to turn the feature on. This prevents the display from turning off while you are looking at it.

I checked it on my phone. Indeed bummer that option is not available in Tab A8.
