Is it possible to create a link to Photo (stored in my phone ) on my Home Page?

I created a link to a photo but it seems it accesses that Photo from the cloud and not from the phone itself. There's always a delay in displaying that photo from that link.

When I click on that photo in my Pictures, it displays immediately. There seems to be no option to Save to Home Page though.

This isn't a life and death issue ... thanks in advance.

Dave Horne

Hi Dave,

It's currently not possible to add a single photo to your home screen, however, you can link a photo album. Open the album you want to link on your home screen, tap the 3 dots and tap add to home screen.

By adding the photo you want to open quickly to a (nearly) empty album and adding that album to your home screen, you should save yourself some searching in the gallery.

Alternatively, you can use the picture frame widget (installed separately, https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.widget.pictureframe&cId=000005424934) to display the actual photo on your home screen.

I downloaded and installed that widget.

It works in a fashion. It would have been nicer if the end result was an icon. What I have now consumes a fair amount of screen real estate.

So, yea, it works, and it kind of does what I want.

Thanks for the tip.

A bit outdated, but your problem kept me around for a while, hence my solution: First I tried to do the same with onboard tools, but it was too difficult. I now use Spixxit to link my images (city maps, train schedules, hiking maps) directly on the home screen. Works nicely, I don't lose the images anymore and can delete them easily when done.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dgllernsoftware.spixxit
