Galaxy watch 7 Weather complication not working at all

Hi,

This is the type of issue that is a deal breaker because the weather complication is a major part of so many watch faces both originally Samsung's and third party.

I think it's an issue specific to galaxy watches paired with non Samsung phones which makes it all the more infuriating to the user.

The complication just stopped updating weather which non Samsung users had to manually do anyways frustratingly but on 7/22 the complication stopped updating even manually.

In the process of troubleshooting it, I have in the recent days, tried clearing the data and cache for the wearable app and galaxy watch manager and eventually uninstalling and reinstalling them and eventually having to the reset the watch.

Now I can't a location at all in weather and the complication displays a big 0.

The app settings in galaxy watch is now bugged too. It doesn't display settings for weather and many of the apps too. Disgusting part is that it's only for non Samsung phones.

I have the exact same issue..also started on 22.7. reinstalled the the watch twice..reinstalled samsung wearables app twice...the only way the weather app on the phone can refresh is if i have mobile networks active and bluetooth conection to my phone is disabled than it manually refreshes on my watch...I have a Poco 7 phone. the only apps that have settings in Wearables app is now bixby, recorder, calender and phone..all other apps have no settings..so cannot be adressed via the watch (check your phone info on watch)

Same issue here. I have a watch 7 and a moto 50 edge fusion. Its very annoying.

Same issue here involving OnePlus 13 -- may have begun 7/22, but I'm not sure, just frustrated. Several AI step-by-step 'solutions' don't work. One problem of course is the app that S forces on one - can't delete, or modify it with any app switches, per my installation.

Had 7 since its introduction, by the way. This is just the latest of strange, inconsistent, intermittent failures (syncing with phone, etc.) that have been extremely frustrating. Even if the 8 had additional functions (none seem to be available to the android world) and a heritage strap gauge, I'm keeping the 7 until my $79 CMF Nothing Pro 3 arrives. Seems to be amazing watch, with memo-keeping WAY beyond google / samsung. check it out.

I contacted Samsung technical support regarding this issue. They initially advised me to either install the Google Weather app or downgrade the Galaxy Watch 7 plugin (this was yesterday).

However, today I was forced to update the Galaxy Watch 7 plugin in order to continue using the app.

So I contacted Samsung technical support again. This time, they refused to assist me simply because I use a Xiaomi phone instead of a Samsung device. I reminded the representative that Samsung does support Android devices, although some features are exclusive to Samsung phones. He repeatedly stated that not all features are supported on non-Samsung phones.

I politely asked whether the weather feature in question was one of those Samsung-only features, but he refused to give a clear answer or confirm whether this was a known bug or a limitation.

He then told me to send in the watch for repair — but warned that if it turned out not to be a "production problem," I would be responsible for the repair costs myself. When I asked if a software issue or bug would be considered a production problem, he again refused to clarify.

I switched to Samsung because I was dissatisfied with Xiaomi's customer support, but this has been an entirely new level of frustration and lack of transparency.

Obviously it's a bug.

But Samsung is doing nothing to fix it, very disappointing on their part

I don't see why the weather should be an exclusive feature...

And also on other galaxy watches it works so I think it's a bug...

Yeah call it a bug or an oversight but their own update to the Galaxy Watch Plugin 7 on Android broke the weather on the watch. Apparently the Plugin on the phone has been updated to the incoming OneUI8 update (incoming God knows when) but the watch itself hasn't and still running OneUI6. All other apps can still communicate with the phone but the Weather app no longer can.

Infuriatingly only for non Samsung phones. So as I understand ekg, blood pressure and now weather. Only works on Galaxy Watch if you have Samsung phone too.

I'm also having the same issue with my Pixel 9 Pro XL. At this point, I have just added the Google Weather app and created a new title using that weather app. Certainly not perfect, but a decent workaround for now.

Apparently there's now and update to Samsung Weather via settings --> apps --> updates to Samsung apps. My weather version updated from 1.1.20.something to 1.1.25.1 and the complications are working again.

Yeah took quite some time but an update to weather and a lot of the watch faces finally fixed it. Kudos to them because they seem to have improved the weather app also.

You need to manually go to your watch settings and from there find "apps" and from there the "updates for Samsung apps". The headers in quotes are probably something different if your watch is in German.

no nothing new there still no settings of apps in watchsettings..but the watch does now manually update the weather.. so at least that is good
