Smart Switch update

I was prompted to download the latest version of Smart Switch 4.2.21013.13 It downloaded, then deleted Smart Switch from my Windows 10 PC. I tried it on my laptop and that hasn't worked either, so I can't backup my phone. Poor show.

Hi @Gaelstorm Some customers have experienced issues with Smart Switch and Windows 10. Have you tried to download again , previously there were problems with Firefox so I would suggest you use another Browser in the first instance, such as Chrome. Ensure you are downloading from the samsung website https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/switching/

However if still problems worth noting that some members have found this solution helps.

Uninstall all of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages from the PC, 2005, 2008, etc., both x86 and x64
- Install only Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86), regardless if the PC/W is x86 or x 64
Afterwards Install Smart Switch.

It's Chrome I'm using, and the download comes from the prompt within the app, so I assume it's direct from Samsung. However, I note your comments re cloud backup.

i followed this steps and still having problems with the error of Microsoft Visual C++

i don't like the cloud alternative since it doesn't back up all photos!! ufff

what can i do to be able to use smartswitch to back up to my pc again??

I downloaded Smart switch from Samsung after it had been deleted from my PC. It worked ok. I think the trick is don't update when you get prompted to! Or if you do and it deletes the whole program, just download it again.

That does NOT help those of us who depend on smart swith to sync with outlook. My updated smart switch is absolutely useless as now I cannot sync my calender and contacts with outlook on my pc which I need so how do we solve that ABYSMAL mess ?
