Package Installer Keeps Stopping

Every time I try and install an APK on my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, it loads about 75% of the way before the install stops and the screen darkens slightly. If I try a few times I get a notification saying that the Package Installer keeps stopping. I've cleared the cache and data on the package installer, reset my app preferences, restarted the phone twice, installed an APK installer and a file manager, and nothing seems to help. It's only affecting apps I'm trying to install from the internet, everything I install and update from the Google Play store is working absolutely fine. Is there any way to fix it this?

The apps are probably not compatible with Android 11. Did you post on another forum? Your question seems familiar.

Thank you, I'll look into that - though it was an issue that became apparent when I was trying to update an app already installed on my phone...
and no, I've not posted anywhere else, as it's only just presented as an issue today!

the APK itself could be corrupted

try downloading another from different mirror/server
