If you put the SD card in the phone, it should detect it. Then you can use it as you wish.

So in Files, you should be able to copy, paste and move files to your SD card. You can also move movable apps in Settings in the App settings.

You can't use your SD card as extra storage like that. Adoptable storage isn't compatible with Samsung phones. You will need to move movable apps and photos to your SD card as I mentioned.
